“Model analysis”.

However, when he was creating a character model in his mind by analyzing the opposing side’s ability, a crazy idea echoed in his mind. What would happen if he creates a model of the entire world? This would imply that he… would be like a God, controlling the world!

I just finished this novel. It is awful at the beginning. As in, you will see how desperate the MC is. You will see him at some point getting OP, then author does something to the plot that says otherwise. Author keeps on doing that. He upgrades his skills then just when you think he is gonna be OP, author comes and said: no, no, no, not OP, can't have that.

Spoiler

His actual skill, model analysis upgrades using the black cards his father left. All he has to do is look for it. 1st card is more on cheat in learning stuff, like skills, medicine, piano, just literally everything, 2nd card gives him copy talent, you would think that he is OP with this but nope, author just says "to hell with it, lets make his mana consumption 10 times when copying skills, and add to the fact that the copied skill is no way as powerful as the original, and lets make him just able to copy one, making it so effin useless in one on one. Author just add those effin restrictions just after MC killed a higher ranked guy. Maybe author thought: "oh no, this is OP, I dont like this" author keeps doing that and too much info dump.

[collapse]

I just skimmed through most of the chapters, I would like to skip chapters but thinking that he might find a card in one of the chapters, I persevered. But to no avail, even if you just skip all the chapters in the middle, and just go straight to last 20 chapters you would still understand everything. The worst thing is that my patience is not rewarded, the ending sucks.

Spoiler

last chapters just shows how he breakthrough 10 cultivation levels up to peak. I feel betrayed. What the hell is this ending. I expected a bit more. Tsk. Worst thing here is that at the end, the enemy became good and is f*ckin his mom. The enemy is actually his dad's friend/avatar which has own consciousness. But hell why. Even if that is the case, why would the ending be like that. Like fuuuudge. His mom got reverse harem and he is happy about it. This is too much that I need to heal my soul.

[collapse]

Oh and his sister is forgotten by the author. This is so messed up. I wanna cry cause this just wasted my time. Oh well. I regret reading this crap. <<less

This novel is not my thing, the school drama ruined this novel for me, god, MC bit*h about why others give him a hard time when he keep clinging to the most popular and outstanding girl in school, duh bruh you're the one attracting all that attention, she is a talented and you have a tr*sh talent, get a clue. Not to mention the chick he's in love with will never help him if he gets beaten in front of her, becuz she knows he has a tr*sh talent and... more>> even admitted that the only thing she is attracted to him is his hardwork and will look down on him the moment he asks her a help.

I dropped this novel because if high school annoyed me this much, I dont think I can bear his university.. In my opinion if you want to read a better version of this where it doesn't focus on school drama, but MC working hard for his poor family in order to bring them into the rich district and gains money, power, position, I would recommend you Swallowed Star, it's million times better. <<less

The MC is s*upid and the author feels like a little kid. The MC has the ability to see and copy peoples skills. He never uses it though. The author always says how smart the MC is and I still dont understand how. He just steals other peoples hard work. The MC wouldnt be anything without his power up. I also hate dumb stuff the author says like "Do you know what fighting combat is" teacher says. "Isn't it fighting combat?" MC says. "No! Its when you punch and kick... more>> a guy." Teacher says. MC is then shocked at how smart the teacher is and thinks its the best class ever. The author just says random bs 24/7. <<less

I dropped it early in spite of a promising premise because...

First, the writing/translation is somewhat amateurish: it can be read, but sentences in broken english are not uncommon.

Second, the MC is a psycopath. He disregards the value of any life (except for his sister) which reflects in the way he treats others and trains himself. I don't care for such a character.

The final straw for me are the completely arbitrary/illogic/moronic/caricatural reactions of 99% of the characters in this novel:

Spoiler

- A thief in possession of an OP -card-giving-power decides to randomly steal a phone from a student...

-Said student reacts to his stolen phone by stealing (surprisingly easily) a flying motorcycle and engage in a fight to the death with the thief (as you do...)

-Completely unconcerned by the double mu*der he just participated in, the student embarks on a self destructive training regimen

-When the student triggers the first mutated beast large scale attack on the city in 10 years, the guards hesitate to defend the city because of the MC running in front of the horde... and later reward him for allowing them to defend the city...

-There's also the ham-fisted romance with the school beauty and the fact that both her and her brother find it funny that the MC uses threats on the sister to summon the brother...

Just your daily Xianxia / Xuanhuan novel with Cultivation, might-make-right, powerful clan's arrogant young master, and MC fighting people stronger than him.

The description is pretty misleading. Before you expect anything great from the MC, his Ability is making model with his mind; and after an "accident", it evolved to "copying other people's passive trait". Not as Overpowered like copying special/unique Ability (yet) ; but rather, permanently copying what other people has trained.

Other than that, the MC is an example of Brain & Brawl. With a weak Ability, he only do close-combat training (by copying other people's training) ; while the rest of the world train their Ability. Meanwhile, with his growth, he thought of a lot of combat-usages for his non-combat Ability.

Author can't seem to remember what he wrote.

Spoiler

in the same chapter he writes the main character bought sleeping powder to beat the pack of jackals but when he meets the group he doesn't use it and runs away like a puss and than for some reason comes up with the idea to use aphrodisiac on them... terrible writing. this isn't the only thing too but why should I waste more words on an author that can't write?

Also, if a girl willingly broke up with you to "protect" you and does this twice, would you still like her? if she doesn't even fight to be with me than she is not worth my time. our MC is a f*cking wuss and doesn't have his priorities straight.

My dude also hides his upgraded ability because some random card upgraded him and he thinks if he shows off that his ability upgraded they will somehow assume it was him... I hate all these s*upid ass cliches of hiding your abilities. also the different family backgrounds thing is also another annoying cliche.

This has got to be one of the most inconsistent novels i've read, tons of things fall apart as the story goes on with random powerups to literally everyone for no reason, plenty of nonsense that's never explained and so much of what gives the story potential early on is just squandered, despite early on trying to give everyone their own abilities towards the later chapters this is all but gone in favor of "and he swung his sword but the antagonist was fine because I said so" romance is... more>> flat, with the secondary girl all but forgotten for the majority of the story, fights are extremely long and boring tournament arcs galore and the only real redeeming quality in my mind is the one or two funny side characters <<less

It is really unfortunate that I have decided to drop this novel. I really love this kind of setting, but sometimes we must face reality and come to terms on how shitty something is. This novel had potential, but the author is just garbage. The first 50 chapters of the story it's just a long training session. What sort of training? The worst kind, where the character just copies others effort without doing anything themselves. The only exception and part that I like was when he went out of the... more>> city to get some money for his training. This sort of cheat system I could overlook, but what really put me off was the "cultivation" system.

Basically, cultivation is made up of 4 parts, knowledge (exam), physique, martial arts, and ability (different ability are given different rankings/points by the government). The system could be ok if it was just used in the school setting, but once you take it out of the school setting it makes no sense. How could a random stranger, who knows nothing about you, know that your cultivation is 9 points, when 2 of those points come from knowledge, 2 from ability, and the rest form physique, and martial art. It makes sense in the school setting because they are regularly tested and the information is public, but outside school how would you know someone exact score if you dont even know what ability (think x-men) they have. Obviously, the author wanted to use a xianxia like system where others can immediately tell your power level but didn't think it all the way through. The story is full of inconsistencies like this and I hate this kinda of ret*rded stuff. It feels like the author just doesn't care and just puts whatever he comes up with to get some cash. <<less

Definitely OP protagonist.

Its quite a fun read because its not entirely world breaking OP that he could annihilate the world that instant, though.

Its fun to read because we get to see how the MC experiments with his newly found abilities, and then dealing with the aftermath of his actions head on, instead of running away / etc.

Also the love interest has depth, it doesn't seem like she'll just stand to the side and quietly support her man. Which I feel is an annoying cliché that I see often from Chinese writers and that's disappointing because it makes for a really uninteresting character. But awesome start to this novel 5 stars and I can't wait for more! <<less

I've read GMC to chapter ~240 before taking a break due to real life affairs (at least can stack up chapters).

I can't seem to understand the hate for this novel, as its completely captivating.

Some people are crying over the MC being "s*upid", which makes me wonder whether or not they are just skimming over the novel rather than actually reading it.

... more>> The MC doesn't receive "random power-ups", he uses his Ability to "steal" the powers/Abilities of other people (only up to a certain extent since he can be noticed).

Him doing so-called "s*upid actions" are usually with a reason or a cause - for example, the battle mentioned by the reader called "raifan" (who only read up to ch56) against his rival. Why did he under-estimate his opponent and didn't use his Ability? Because his Ability can be noticed by others and takes time to use + the fact that it was almost unimaginable for his rival to improve so much in a short time (at least within the eyes of normal people).

The next part would be the misunderstanding that the user called „omarct“ put out and used to show off his ignorance after just 50 chapters. „Omarct“ mentioned how it shouldn't be possible for everybody to be able to tell the MC's/opponents power level, but he hasn't bothered reading further to understand that there are devices which allow you to view the opponents power level unless said opponent has a device to block that.
Saying the story is full of inconsistencies? That's a joke, or rather, I'd like to hear in which ways its full of „inconsistencies“ because in my eyes the novel only tries to shroud things in mysteries, which makes it more exciting.

(Yes, I'll be done soon, just gonna talk about 3 other „reviews“ by the dear „readers“ of this)

„obsessed-reader“, who seems to be very obsessed if he stopped reading at chapter 46, said that „Author can't seem to remember what he wrote.“ which is more likely wrong than he'd think.
The reader might have misread a part, skipped a part of it might actually have been a problem in the translation of the novel rather than a problem from sides of the author.

Calling the MC a „wuss“ and that he doesn't have his „priorities straight“ is a stretch, as you have to consider the viewpoint of the MC as a teenager/young adult & have to consider the situation of the MC's girl who is bound by her families restrictions.

Hiding his ability? Well, if he doesn't want to be killed or tortured in experiments for his mutated ability, he'll have to hide it obviously.

„Kefi“ talked about the translation/writing of the novel, I'm not gonna talk about that as I haven't had any problems while reading. His second point was the MC being a „psycopath“ (probably meant to be „Psychopath“) for „disregards the value of any life (except for his sister) “ which is once again, false. He cares about the value of life, but not just for any life. Do you personally care about the lives of complete strangers or people you don't like? No. He has his own principles and even ended up caring about a „beast“ (no more info due to spoiler)

His last point regarding how „illogical“ the reactions of 99% of the character in this novel are?
Also laughable. You have to put yourself into the perspective of the character before mentioning something like that.

Last but not least, „Enryuu022“ who apparently stopped reading after chapter 17, talking about the „school drama“ ruined the novel for him. Reading further would have told you about the causes and reasons for reactions in the earlier chapters. Also, he blatantly made a „recommendation“ for another novel, which just feels like a poor way to use a new novels popularity as a platform to advertise your own favorite novel.

So, I like GMC, I gave it 4 out of 5 stars due to the Romance in the story being a bit awkward here and there, and because I wished for the MC to struggle a bit more in certain parts of the story – but it's otherwise an amazing novel.

Thanks for reading my review (or not) ;) <<less

It was a good read, but then gravity tales surrendered it to webnovels, who in turn got greedy and made it a "premium" read. Ever since then I'm leery of reading anything on gravity tales and have gone from whitelisting their site from ad-block to blacklisting it. As for webnovels? I'm not even visiting it, but have it blacklisted in case I ever end up there reading another novel and hitting "next" only to find myself there.

If you want a polished / semi-polished novel with barely any flaws in the story, then this novel is not for you. The author doesn't know how the real life works. The romance is dumb / ret*rded... bunch of "powerful" people pretty much just bickering and the typical "saving face" stuff. Rich/powerful family who has dealing with the dark side of the society, has no qualms on killing people, bowing down to a highschooler MC (like for real??). Too many useless info dump here and there. Random events popping out... more>> of nowhere to keep the "plot" moving. and many more...

Got to 117 pretty much by basically forcing myself to read in the hopes that the author does something right, but nope. I regretted everything.

Novel recommendation: children-early teens (the slower ones) <<less

Good story so far. He is not OP at all, but he is strong.
Spoiler

He recently got beat down by a guy that was seen in the first couple of chapters.

[collapse]

His ability allows him to able to train to the top of his competition. His ability could become OP in the future, if it evolves. The cultivation point system could be explained better. It seems like the MC is about to max out some stats, so we should see what happens after.

The issue for me, making it 3/5 instead of 4/5, is that the author seems to dumb down the MC in a fight.
Spoiler

Part of his ability is to see other peoples powers, and what they are training and currently training. The power is almost instant. So any fight he goes into, he should know the other persons power, and how they trained.

So the MC got into a fight with his love rival, who got a new power up. The love rival decided to play with the MC and only show his new power towards the end. For some reason the author decided to make the (supposedly smart) MC s*upid and make him not use his only advantage. The MC should never be caught off guard because of a surprise power. It takes him nothing to scan his opponent.

[collapse]

Looking forward to the future world building.

This is just poor. All the scenes are like in a manga, you just know what will happen and how the plot will continue. Also the MC just does everything right, there is no suspense, he always has plot armor and finds exactly what he needs. In manga atleast they train or have difficulties..

It's a good novel if you take away the part of the author's obsession on Tournament's!

Spoiler

When you read this novel expect a very very very boring struggle to read of Tournament Arc's This include hundred's of chapters main focus on boring Tournament's.

Is Tournament's chapters really that bad? technically speaking it's good but if you keep on reading it over and over again then just flip your table.

Tournament Arc's:

    • Random OP character's appear out of nowhere for the sake of a challenging battle yet they die or slowly fade away after the Tournament are over.
    • The waste of character introduction of this random character's can eat so many chapter's and yet by the end of the day we all know MC always at the Top.
    • Repetitive only name and skill's are change but how the MC defeat the opponent is like a copy paste of how the MC beat's the last opponent.
    • The so many wasted chapters of MC's fight, it's dull and boring, the MC struggle but with a thick plot armor we already know MC will win. It's so PREDICTABLE that even if you skip every thing you won't miss anything at all.

Suggestion: You can all skip the Tournament arc or just read the part where MC appear and you won't miss anything.

[collapse]

Review are not done just a partial rant to express how badly I hated reading this tournament arc's

DROP this novel for one reason It's BORING!

Spoiler

Imagine at Ch425 the country tournament hasn't started yet they are doing simulation battle! you read it right they are doing battle virtually as practiced because the MC scan their opponent and made a virtual model of them to practice.

Why is it boring? because technically speaking all there practice battle From member 1 to 5 is being presented so imagine that is still a f*cking PRACTICE and you are force to READ IT AGAIN after the real deal! How bored is the author to bluntly slap you a copy paste scenario! Imagine that your are reading every battle TWICE and what your are reading is about MOB 1 fighting MOB 2 which has no relationship with the story what so ever and will disappear but the worst part you are force to read it TWICE via virtual battle (Practice) and Real battle!

PROGRESS!? their is no f*cking progress!

Imagine the amazing most epic reasoning of the author! after so much OP battle OP skill then they will fight the suppose to be the weakest team in the tournament and they are instantly defeated via virtual reality! The weakest team is so OP that they can instant kill the MC's Team! Reason? so the author can force you to read about their epic practice boring 1 on 1 fight (practice) and so on via virtual reality but by the end of the they PLOT armor activated and MC's team became the CHAMPION!

So by the end of it all you will ask your self... For what did I read all those nonsense for!? *Flip Table*

[collapse]

This novel is very good test of the readers bottom line I mean I will bow down to people who can read a copy paste scene over and over again. It was so obvious that you can't even tell the difference of the fight in the past the present and in the future because they are all the same!

As for me I decide to bury this novel forever seriously regretted wasting my time reading this! will like I said this novel is GOOD if you can ignore the copy paste plot of the tournament arcs.

The MC may become one hell of an OP character.. But at this stage, he's still experimenting with his power and developing his style of fighting. In a world where having unique ability means power and limitless future, the MC only has an ability which deemed by society as mediocre. But through a twist of fate and luck he evolved his ability into something better, not OP ability still. This newly evolved ability may not be OP but depending on how it's used and trained it might just become one... more>> hell of a cheat ability (my personal opinion).

It is fun to read and the pace neither too slow nor too fast. <<less

I rated it a 5, but it's more of a 4.5. Overall this story is low on angst, though bad stuff happens it's not focus of the story like a lot of other Novels of this type. Main character seems to learn from his mistakes and improves himself and gets rid of the obstacles in his life. Not a true super MC but a MC that gets stronger and adapts to life's problems. tl;dr Honestly, it's pretty good. READ IT.

The one gripe I have about this novel is that the author keeps on mentioning origin ability this, origin ability that... goodness, it was fine at first, but the author does not have to mention it every other chapter.

But, if you can block that from your mind, the story is amazing. There are small arcs here and there, but no overarching plot as of yet.

Right now, only one girl is present and damn she actually trusts the guy, there's even INTERACTION-not many Xuan Huan... more>> or wuxia novels do that. The guy is no pushover either. He gets strong, but it's believable, ; he actually works for his strength. The beginning is pretty similar to most novels: gets a boost, gets stronger. Compared to the prideful and bloodthirsty MC's of other Chinese novels-he comes close. But, he plans his actions and he will NOT provoke others unless they pissed him off first. And of course, it's not a Chinese novel if the MC does not kill at least 5 people.

Finally, the story is completed and ended at about 1090 chapters and that is an amazing number. This means that it will NOT get as redundant as the ones with over thousands of chapters. It means that this novel is worth the read because every experience the MC will go through should be different than the last. Seriously, what would you rather waste your time on? A novel that goes long a repeats a similar arc over and over or a relatively short one that won't piss you off as much.

If you want anything similar to this, I recommend 108 Maidens of Destiny. <<less
