Obviously, I've only read 10 chapters so take this mini review with a grain of salt but..... The writing just seems INCREDIBLY dull. Within the first chapter he starts out young again and in a new body and has next to no reaction except "I'm young again!" One of his first thoughts is going after girls and playing video games with his friends.. Really? Would that really be someone's first thoughts when given a second chance? I don't know if it's the content of the story or the way it's... more>> written, but it just falls extremely flat. Like if instead of reading a story, one of your friends had just woken up from a nap and decided to tell you a dream they had. Pure wish fulfillment without any details to make it interesting. Within 3 chapters, the so called girl of his dreams dumps food on his head, blushes at him, then talks about meeting up a year later or something. However... it's hard to understand how exactly this happened. He did nothing but say more or less one sentence to her each time. There was nothing hinting at the girl's thoughts, maybe something like how he seemed different or anything like that. Ehh I'm getting side tracked. Anyway, I would have given it more chances by reading more chapters but I've looked at other reviews that are much deeper into the story, and they all more or less have the same out look as me. Looks like this is a story I'm going to have to skip.

EDIT: Looking at some other reviews that have given a high score, I just want to say something else.... I've given this novel a low score, but that doesn't mean I was expecting something generic like him constantly getting into arguments with arrogant young masters and face slapping them, etc etc. I absolutely love slice of life novels and light hearted novels. However... this is a BAD slice of life / light hearted novel. There's nothing wrong with novels like these moving along slowly, as long as they're interesting and make you want to read more. This novel has neither of those factors. Pretty unfair to assume anyone who's given it a low score is suddenly doing so because you think they want something generic and action filled or filled with face slapping and so on. <<less

There is real no character development. It seems the idea is beauty slays all and even descriptions are bared down to the minimal with stories never being filled out. Very superfically written in all aspects.

If you like something very fast paced, revenge, malicious plots, the typical godly powers and harem CN novel than this is not for you. If however you're like me and enjoy at times a more slow paced series than you'll probably enjoy this. The MC is a little dense but he's not into harems. He likes one girl and sticks with her so far.

There's no revenge plots, no betrayal just a fun slice of life series. He's not all-knowing, but he is talented and he does try to improve himself... more>> throughout. It's a lighthearted and relaxing series and after reading a lot of the more traditional far, this is a good break. <<less

MC gets to be rebirthed but is in a alternate dimension where the only difference is he's now suddenly super good looking and super smart. The novel is a slow slice of life where MC gets pretty much everything handed to him because of his good looks. You, the reader will follow along his day to day life to becoming super famous in the world.

Now this was originally a 4 star rated novel for me because there's some funny parts in the story where women walk into poles from staring... more>> at his smile among other things. But here's the problem, and some people might have noticed this too. There were often times that paragraphs in the novel don't quite connect with each other for me, and it was nagging me at the back of my mind.

I finally went to check the raws one day and realized that the translator had been SKIPPING SENTENCES, and sometimes whole paragraphs!!!!! That's right, he/she only translated what they felt like! So 1 star taken off.

The author is another one of those nationalist guys where China is great and everyone else sucks so if you cannot stand that, you might want to skip this novel. Now everyone needs to read at their own risk because many details are missing from the novel. <<less

First of all, I don't usually write review. I expected some development of characters and some kind of amazing plot, but found none. If you want to find some action and plot-heavy novel, stay away from this "daily-life" novel. It's good for some people, though. (Preference/taste).

From technical standpoint, too many descriptive words (like when you eat too much salt/sugar, it will backfire) makes this novel bland. Too little development.

Again, stay away if you want heavy action-packed, powerful beings-filled novel, and similar things, etc.

To be completely honest, I loved this story.

Yes, the beginning was pretty slow, with a lot of unnecessary information and writing that to me seemed close to amateur, but the pace speeds up eventually, and Qidian makes it a lot easier to skim and scroll than many websites. I absolutely loved the MCs introduction to the showbiz industry, and the variety of jobs and different people he meets, stunning people around the world with his otherworldly looks along the way. The main character isn't one of those typical scummy guys... more>> who after becoming handsome and going back in time can't control their "desires" and simply become a rich bastard by relying on others hard work in the future, but his knowledge seems to minimally impact him at all.

Although I didn't understand at first why the MC was so hung up on the female lead at first, after a lot of chapters I slowly came to understand just how awesome she is, and just how much she truly cares about the MC without showing it. They are a perfect couple, the cool ridiculously handsome (on the outside, anyone who is close to him knows that he is a goofy adorable foodie on the inside) top model, (trust me, he had to go through A LOT of work to get that title, on top of school work) actor, (though at times he finds himself cursing his good looks because he cannot get the role he wants because he will outshine the leads XP), FOODIE (aren't we all?), who chases after the female lead like an adorable puppy + female lead aspiring architect who is ridiculously beautiful, but her brains are even more impressive, and she is the workaholic who at times forgets about her puppy boyfriend and kicks him off the bed and makes him sleep on the floor when he is too clingy. She tries (and barely does) to not get too jealous about her bfs job and trust him, which is extremely hard with all the admirers/clingy/people he attracts (both men and women XP). She is extremely practical and for those people that are annoyed at her cold attitude towards the MC at the beginning, she truly began to love him for the adorable mess he is. She is a female BOSS (who reminds me a LOT like Annabeth Chase (from Percy Jackson) LOL <3)

Well, anyway, I enjoyed the showbiz portion the best, and it is one of the best of its genre in my opinion, especially when the MC moves to the US and starts over in that fashion circle (don't worry he is still plenty famous in Asia). I greatly recommend this novel to anyone that can get past the fillers until the showbiz portion when things eventually start to pick up. I skimmed some of the non-showbiz parts and I didn't miss anything extremely important in my opinion. The MC is pretty chill and takes things in stride, and ultimately becomes a great person who is confident in himself and his quirks. <<less

It's probably the most heartwarming romance book targeted towards a male audience, the seer amount of harems and the addition of cultivation is just too overwhelming, a welcomed addition. The female lead is also independent and doesn't rely on the MC, a balanced and equal relationship develops between them.

A breathe of fresh air really, especially considering the other modern day novels you can read.

My first review, and it's for this...

This series wasn't good but I did enjoy it at some point; hence why I managed to even read all 1010 chapters. It started out fine, it wasn't that good or that original, but it was readable and I was in the mood for a second-chance rebirth-type-of-novel. It was a good match.

As many have already mentioned, this is not a redemption, not a revenge, not even a go-back-in-time-to-fix-all-your-mistakes type (no matter how hard it tries to think it is, it just isn't) of story.... more>> A guy goes back in time and becomes an outstandingly handsome man, that's about it. From there he goes on to live his life while trying to become rich and marry his lifelong (previous life included) crush. Speaking of, her character is really insignificant to the story, her character doesn't particularly affect the plot in any important way after our MC manages to convince her to become his girlfriend. I have a feeling the only reason the author made her character studious was so that he could always write her out of the story because she was constantly working.

Once you know this, there really isn't much else to the story. He becomes a model, then a famous actor and a businessman, but it's all fairly inconsequential since you know he'll succeed at anything he does because the plot will not allow him to fail. Which, by the way, I don't necessarily mind in an easy-going slice-of-life, but if you want drama, look elsewhere; this isn't what you're looking for.

This was fine for what it was, it was something I could just go back to whenever I ran out of other stuff to read, but somewhere along the way I guess the author lost sight of what he wanted to write, I don't know. It became a real chore to read, even though the chapter length kept decreasing. The xenophobia and stereotyping became more prevalent as the series went on and he became an international star. I guess it's something I've come to expect from Chinese writers, but the unbearable patriotism in this was just... hard to read. I kept going in the hopes that it would maybe get better, but it didn't and eventually, I was just reading for the sake of finishing it.

Plus, the story itself just wasn't fun to read. It was poorly written and there's no way around that, I can usually tolerate that as I have fairly low standards (how else would I have managed to finish it), but this just wore away my enjoyment as I kept reading; which is a common theme in long-running novels, but that doesn't make it any less disappointing. The only reason it gets two stars and not one is because I did enjoy it at first, but the later it gets the lower my rating gets. I won't say you shouldn't read it because some people did, apparently, genuinely enjoy this so maybe you will? Still, I don't know that most people could tolerate reading this.

EDIT: Forgot to mention they also use real people in the story. I know it's not the only one to do this, but it still makes me uncomfortable. Idk, you might disagree or not care, but if it's something that might bother you, then stay away.

I feel like I will never be able to fully express how frustrated this made me.

P.S. The ending wasn't even that satisfying. It wasn't worth reading. I wasted my time and I regret it.

TL:DR Wasn't good, wouldn't recommend, starts average and gets worse. <<less

It is a slice of life novel. NO HAREM. He does not have a system, one day he woked up in the past and was just more handsome. He goes from modeling, acting, and having his own accounting firm. The MC is full of patriotism, so when directors, government, and agencies come calling he helps them even though it is not advantageous for him. They take advantage of his kindness, but he says "Oh well" even though he is busy with all stuff

TL;DR: For those who like novels related to show-business, I 100% recommend. Slow start, but absolutely worth it if you can get past the author's increasingly ridiculous glorification of the MC.

I'm honestly fed up with people who think it's okay to rate a novel with over 600 chapters after reading the first 50. NO.

JUST. DON'T.

... more>> This novel is absolutely underrated thanks to its slow start. If you haven't read at least 100 chapters, don't bother rating it because you don't have enough material to judge it.

Also, the author likes to make long and useless descriptions of a lot of things, if you can't stand that, then just skip it. But by God almighty, stop rating it so low when you gave up at 15 freaking chapters!!

For those who want more information on the novel and what comes after 100 chapters, read below. Be forewarned though, it's all spoiler.

Spoiler

MC starts his modeling and acting career in China. He becomes quite successful. He then goes to the US and studies at Columbia University. He models for Armani and Calvin Klein, acts in two indie movies (wins 1 award), one movie directed by George Clooney starring Drew Barrymore and Julia Roberts, and also Mean Girls where he acts as Aaron.

One star, as I find the title of this book is nonsense. Why? Because I feel like there's alot of missing pieces regarding the background and purpose of MC rebirth. Basically, it's just a story of a dude who returned (18 years) to his former life. The MC is somehwat good looking (maybe wrong, but without MC expression or what not I conclude he was a charmer looking boy) not socialized, aloof and not so smart/just don't study much previously (only a brief hint), but as he get a second... more>> chance, he became more/super handsome, he's changing the way it used to be. I get what author trying to write, but without a short story of what he actually was and what caused the rebirth, what he's been trough and most important part, why he is a loser (?), the understanding of what the MC is and trying to change/undo/improve after rebirth became bleak, mundane and nothing to expect or be excited about.

All in all, this is just a story of a growing up teenager (reborn to re-live another way of life), simply became popular and whatever, didn't see how he's even reincarnated or what he's supposed to change. So yea, there's nothing much to relate to whatsoever MC's second chance (a loser became a prince charming) is about.

But for overall super easy going nothing near special reading, I'd say it worth 3 stars. Basically it's nothing really, just a dude who is super handsome gets everything ok as he wants, no setbacks, falling off or whatever. Just a super smooth sailing all the way of a super handsome guy. So if you want drama/suspence/face slap etc. Nope, you ain't gonna find those in here. <<less

Really bad book. MC doesn't even blink when he finds out that he was reincarnated. There is no plot nor character development, just some hot guy walking around and getting modeling and TV jobs. Romance is lackluster, and the characters are one-dimensional. I had to stop after reading up to chapter 311 because I couldn't stand it anymore.

A surprisingly sweet romance, with a touch of comedy, which reminds me of "I really am a Superstar". Despite his advantages and temptations, the male lead has his sweetheart he stays loyal to. Funny scenes appear around the ML and his interactions with the varied cast of characters are interesting.

The flaws mentioned in other reviews are true. After going back in time he becomes astoundingly beautiful, smarter and able to learn physical movement instantly. If anyone has read the Ell Donsaii series by Laurence Dahners, the main character has similar... more>> abilities. A bit of a Mary Sue type character.

If you can read it without expecting a moving epic storyline, then you will able to enjoy it. It's light and not serious. <<less

The story is nice, but I feel like it moves too quick. Otherwise, it's a perfectly good read. There is rebirth but the story doesn't rely too much on that like in other novels. It's tastefully used, like in Very Pure and Ambiguous. The character doesn't and shouldn't have control over the future of everything no matter how much he knows. It reminds me of Lookism, the character is given a fresh start with better looks, so where do you go from there.

At first this novel is pretty boring and I keep reading until the last update and its worth to read.

The story will get better and better until I cant get enough of it. I think this kind of story will attract female readers than the male readers.

I dont know what to say... just TRY to read this novel for your free time. Enjoyable.

The extreme number of one points on this really surprises me. It is a well paced story with interesting characters. Nor does it have an extreme nationalism that you usually see in Chinese novels.

The protagonist is not s*upidly smart like most and he doesn't remember every small event that he can use to earn money. He is simply reborn with a beautiful body and a better memory.

The issue I do have is that it focuses a bit too much on his

I generally LOVE second chance/future knowledge stories, so I gave this one a go.

It fell pretty flat for me, though if you're looking for a second chance slice of life novel where the MC isn't s*upid-level rich or s*upid-level powerful this might be up your alley.

I read all 1, 010 chapters and while there were parts I liked, it was just meh overall.

My main gripes with the novel are that this guy returns from the past but is inexplicably s*upid-level handsome (a Prince Charming) instead of being average looking like... more>> he was in the past life. This novel, especially with the title, would have been 1000x times more interesting if he didn't get the handsome boost, as it would have been more of an uphill struggle for him to become a prince charming. Also, he gets s*upid-level smart, unnecessarily so as he never even really takes advantage of his future knowledge.

For it's genre, it was quite a let-down. But decent for a slice-of-life of how little challenges an uber-handsome genius faces. So give it a pass unless that's what you want. <<less
