I don't really like wuxia cultivation novels but this kept me wanting to read all the through the latest understandable translated chapter.

Spoiler

Even though the character of the story seems way too dependent on the "justified" forced relationships and the whole "justification" plot armor of a "unknown being's protection" or what not.

[collapse]

So you still can stop yourself from wasting your time like what I did for what ever reason.

Still I recommend this after reaching the ending of your favorite novel for a nice junk food change of phase.

MC lacks talent in his past life and in his new life. His past life mostly holds him back, which I actually find really wonderful. All the knowledge he thought would be useful really was lacking because his world view was too narrow.

MC slow gets stronger and really has to work hard only to still be weaker than everyone. He eventually gets rather strong but only actually overpowers his opponent maybe 3 times at this point. It's lovely really, having a MC fight through adversity.

The side characters are well developed... more>> overall.

The world building could be better. The world itself doesn't really feel intriguing by itself since its a generic fantasy/isekai world.

What you read this for is the MC's development and process in changing who he is through hard work and adversity. <<less

In these 143 chapters, I have witnessed the most realistic portrayal I have ever seen of a flawed main character who slowly grows over his inferiority complex and finds his true motivation to get strong. I will not say much, only that you can really feel the suffering he has to go through just to not fall behind the incredibly talented people around him. Yes, he does get OP, but never through a mysterious stone he finds in the grass that rebuilds his body, elevates his talent and also grows... more>> him another wiener while it's at it.

Also there's hints of romance to come, and no signs of a harem. <<less

One of the best Korean novel i've read so far. One thing I like about this novel is him knowing how much weak and talentless he is and the fact that many of several situation he was in could have been solved differently & this drives him to try harder and sometimes even excessively with overconfidence dat comes to bite him. It isn't one of those novel where MC considers himself talentless but in actuality he is not. The rivalry is interesting and so is the mystery surrounding him. As... more>> a wanderer without a place to return to he wanders around various places and the world feels fleshed out and large. Feeling of not belonging anywhere does give a melancholic vibe but in his journey he meets many interesting companions and its joy to read the events. Though there is a slight problem dat other characters might cater to the MC occasionally which would usually bother me but seeing a bit more realistic interesting approach of character interaction made me not care about it. Until where i've read, this novel is on par with some of the best Korean novels in NU like the novel's extra and others. I'd recommend this to anyone seeking for an immersive time..... granted you are patient enough to wait for the snail paced translation. Edit: Now the translation speed seems to be picking up. <<less

A story about people transported to another world en masse but there's still no gun nor technology around, combined with Korean time reverse for a convenient excuse of unexplainable sudden power up. MC level up from hitting air alone on a mountain with no actual combat or practice partner suddenly turning from a third rate villager to master of spear but still no combat experience. Plot armor is very thick and every major character flock to MC to provide him support and encouragement. More than half of the story was... more>> spent on practice with sparsely anti-climatic combat sprinkles around. The author is going to struggle in conjuring more absurd being for MC to fight at this rate.

MC is quite likable, hard working, greedy, and maybe a bit dense. But for him to be able to turn from no class to peak expert this easily is a bit unrealistic. If he can do it like that then everyone else can do it too, hitting air on a mountain. Side characters are plenty in this novel with a pretty decent background story to boot. Interaction between characters is quite good and left a memorable trait that is easy to remember.

Plots are confusing but I hope it will improve overtime as everyone knows it but refuse to tell him. Lol.

If you dislike a novel that has MC gains power easily then this one is unlikely for you. <<less

A great find! First off, t his is not a story about a weak bullied MC who gets a second chance and becomes a genius/ bloodthirsty/ badass. No. Absolutely not.

This is about someone whose previous life starting point was low and in current life, above average. Nothing changed. He is still the same talentless guy as he was in his previous life. Therefore, it is absolutely normal for him to have inferior complex.

However, as the story progresses, he slowly grows out of his complex and gets a brief understanding of... more>> those geniuses. It's a bit far cry to say that his will and determination closed the gap between the geniuses later on as luck also plays a important factor. But I that's what makes the MC a relatable guy.

Highly recommended. <<less

Well as of now this novel just gives me the feeling of being the typical reincarnation/2nd chance type of novel. The MC was only a 3rd rate/class mercenary back then but he was reincarnated on the time that he was summoned. Now with all the knowledge that he knew from the future he'll gonna use them to not become a ordinary person and to reach the peak of the world.

Hmm my own view there's nothing unique that I've seen yet on the novel but still it has a promising future.

Honestly, pretty damn good story. The thing about it is that if you spoil anything for the sake of reviewing the story, you'll have part of what makes it great ruined. With as little detail as possible:

This is an isekai + regression manga. The main character gets called to another world but pretty much sucks throughout his entire life. He finds a weird item he's never heard of before in a chest in a dungeon, and then dies shortly after while exploring said dungeon. The item gives him a do-over... more>> in his life, so he goes back in time to when he first arrived in that world, but having all the knowledge he had before.

Sounds basic, but the story is actually very well written. I'm going to be honest here and say that the story is honestly the best part of this novel, by far. The characters are alright; the main character isn't smart or dumb, but it's made clear from the start that he's pretty much average as far as everyone in the world goes. The main character doesn't always win, and when he does win or come out even, it comes with consequences (although you don't find out about this until the later chapters). It's nothing we've never seen before, but the constant mysteries and plot devices constantly alluded to throughout the story really keep the reader engaged and constantly guessing. There are literally times where a character will mention something important in the earlier chapters, and then the story will bring it back in like chapter 300 to explain something else that's important to the story, and it makes perfect sense (and makes the mysteries far more interesting in the process). It clearly shows the author thought hard about their story, from start to finish.

There are several arcs in the story, each one lasting about 50 chapters or so. The earlier chapters are decent, but the story just keeps getting better and by the time you hit chapter 300 and the story is going at full speed, it's just straight up great. As of chapter 355, there are still a few mysteries left to solve, but the story sounds like it'll be concluded before chapter 500.

There's also a status window in the world, but there are no levels, experience, methods to change classes, or whatever. All characters can see it, but only the MC is ever shown to see his own status window. The only "levels" they ever reference throughout the whole story is just their dominance of a martial art/skill/spell/whatever. So if they don't have it mastered, it'll show as them not having mastered that particular thing. Honestly the status window isn't even a plot device.

Also, there are plot-related reasons for everything in the story: why there's mostly only martial artists in the world, why everyone is Chinese/Korean/whatever, why the MC is the protagonist and not someone else, why he has plot armor and always seems to win/survive by the skin of his teeth, why everyone he meets seems to like him, etc. Explaining more than this would definitely spoil some of the mysteries, since the things I just mentioned are actually important plot points (including his plot armor, which characters do recognize that it exists for him, and which the story uses as a plot device early on).

Honestly, I really, really highly recommend this series. It's a long read (I binged it in like 5-6 days, at one point it got so good I literally couldn't put it down), but I promise you: if you like fantasy stories with action and mystery, this is one that you should definitely read. Oh, and so far there's NO polygamy whatsoever, so I have no idea why it's in the tags. There is only one single love interest, and the male protagonist is faithful. No female character in the story besides the person-of-interest cares about relationships with the male protagonist. <<less

It was kinda good up to 150 chapters, but then it fell off when all this fate and destiny bullsh*t just kept being said and talked about... I really hated it because the only thing they talk and care about is the said fate bullshit... like don't you wanna talk about martial arts or spells? or making weapons? or new training method? or anything else not related to fate...?

some of the villains are also pretty bad... the one I hate the most is the guy who manipulates people because... he... more>> wants to see the Mc's fate or some bullshit... yep, it's lazy character writing at it's finest.

there also seems to be a harem... but honestly the only one I actually cared about is the main girl... <<less

Besides the fact that it's constantly mentioned that the MC is not talented and is weak, i like the weak to strong parts so far. This has also taught me that no matter how talented you think you are, there would always be a genius far better than you somewhere in the world.

One of my fav novels with weak to strong tags. I recommend it for those looking for weak now to strong later MC.

So far this story has a great plot and I really like the MC. Instead of getting a huge cheat or relying on talent he was born with, the MC has to work harder than everyone to catch up to others. I’m really looking forward to the continuation.

The only drawback I’ve noticed so far is that Chapter 80 translated by the Centinni group seems like it’s MTL. It really doesn’t make sense. Unless a new translator decides to redo that chapter, you might as well just skip it altogether and... more>> go onto Chapter 81. <<less

Yet another novel with supposedly pitiful MC "unfairly " treated by fate

Please you still can go to hunt even with low efficiency you will be able to save enough in 20 years to be something meaningfull

... more>> Dont be absurd aboutit, in our world some people called s*ave were not even given a chance to try. If youre not given a chance to do anything then you can blame the world or the system for it, cause its wrong

But if you can still try to be better than yesterday even without talent in anything then its not the system fault its your fault for not finding your talent because everybody born with one albeit not all in the same calibre

The opening were moronic

Its called evolution if human didnt have civilization the poor bastard were not supossed to breed theyre a failure of human being their DNA were not supposed to be passed to next generation human they were supposed to die in a hunting or harsh cilmate

Its because we have civilization that this failure of a genetic able to survive and with the advancement of civilization the parameter of succes shifted from muscle prowes for hunting to academic prowess and those who dont have enough talent or those who wasted their talent chasing for their supposed "dream" in wich they dont have talent will result in poor people because we pitty them and dont let them rot and die on the side road <<less

the MC meets the ML, who plays a huge part in the plot and in my opinion is an excellently written character.

only goes to show the very realistic and very well written (if not slow paced) romance of this series. The main character is wonderfully consistent (if not suppressed at times) and is a decent human being with good morals regarding innocents and ruthless and highly goal oriented morals against his enemies. 5/5 Stars. <<less

MC's personality deteriorates with every single arc and side characters are the only reason to read it as of the latest chapter I've caught up to. It was VERY good in the first few arcs but cannot give it any more than a 2 for slaughtering characterization.

God I’ve been loving this novel!!!!! It is so fresh how the MC isn’t OP and seriously lacks any sort of talent whatsoever.. it’s nicely translated (there just some part where I think the translators changed so it gets confusing with the names but that gets sorted out), the world building gets really good, I like the side characters they each have a goal a we see them working towards it too and well it just really hooked me!

But man.... f*ck it if I’m not stuck in chap 184 cause... more>> the page got down with that chapter until another group picked it up and I AM DYINGGGGGGGG I NEED TO KEEP READING :’ (so if any of you got a link to it I’m on my knees begging <<less

The pace is nonexistent

author jump 1 months to 2100 years yes 2100 years training in his mind with the help of some god

It's obvious that author is trying to give characters personality but in my opinion it's futile attempt. Instead characters look shallow, their actions are justified with some weird reason like a being is supporting him (plot armour)

I read this novel until 118 and I'm left furious for reading it

Read first 10 chapter and if you like it continue reading because it just get more annoying <<less

I read this quite a while ago, long before centinni picked it up (and man am I glad they did).

This is one of those rare novels with real character growth.

The mc:

The MC is likeable and not talented (yes, unlike most novels with "talentless mc's", he actually does have sh*t talent and is the worst of the worst). A major selling point here, is that he doesn't get some cheat that does the work for him. We can see him progress step by step, even if it is at a snail's... more>> pace. His mental fortitude also blows, he simply has none. He is covered with his inferiority. As he is a normal person, compared to the now common monsters (similar to the mc's we usually see in novels) roaming the lands. Instead, what he has is some mysterious driving force that attracts us readers.

The plot:

We get a glimpse here and there of what's really going on behind the scenes. We have so far not fully grasped the full picture, instead we get to follow our MC as he struggles to get more power.

This is a novel that really excites us readers. We want to know more of the MC, we want to see him grow and struggle. It is (so far) a very great novel.

The author begins with a wimpy, b*tchy character for a reason.

This novel’s strength is in its character development, which might seem slow if you’re not used to it but I assure you, 100 chapters in, it definitely pays off. Trust me when I say that your patience will be rewarded.

Even though there are changes in translators, the quality is actually consistent up to where I am now.

I really like this Novel. Usually in this type of stories you get a MC that went through the worst sufferings in the world. So they come back with all the knowledge and go from the bottom of the barrel to Apex on top in two chapter's of so, then they go on show of their might and their larger than life Egos.

If you like that type of setting then you'll be severally disappointed with this Novel.

The MC wasn't the absolute worst at the foot of everyone, neither he was... more>> a crippled genius, he was (and in a way still is) normal, completely average. He's doesn't possess any type of talent or secret skill/art/item/ancestor soul or any type of cheat, neither he has crippled powers, broken soul or other type of affliction.

And that what I like the most about it, he makes a lot of efforts to get just a little bit more strong, skills don't come easy to him, even when he gets skills and magic he really has to work hard to use them because he has no talent. When it is said that he had no talent, that isn't just empty words (like so many novels and their "untalented" genius) there's struggle and hardship to become better than what he was.

Which it's the strongest point of the novel for me:

  • Character Grow: and I not just talking about getting stronger, it's about the MC realising his own weakness and failures and striving to become a better person. He is honestly one of the very few MC, of this genre that I really like and cheer for.
It feels like this novel really has a story to tell and not just a reuse of tropes, with real characters and not just talking cliches, so I am heavily invested in what it's to come.

If you're tired, like me, of the classical Power fantasy, and the MC's that feels more like a Villains, killing and attacking everyone and everything that they don't like with Egos more inflated than Freud's. Then give this one a read it won't disappoint <<less

Although cultivation novels are not my cup of tea, but this novel story is decent, I like how the MC not a 'generic lame hero wannabe with OP powers' but he actually worked hard to earn his power.. What a loss that the translation quality got worse after Chamber dropped this when he entered army.. I hope someone willing to pick this novel back up and continue to translate until the end.
