drop it around somewhere this chapters, not pretty sure anymore but ive even read mtled raws till 1.5k+ chapters, but its straight crapped up, the beginning arcs were good because of the modern society world but later it gets your typically cliches harem cultivation novels where its so predictable and annoying roundabout plot, same as other reviewers the story lost its essence as the its title, its just written in a way the author wants but its so bad its so crappy, should have ended when he ascended to higher... more>> realm if I say so. There are many early characters who have own char development but disappears later and new characters are so useless on the story, like I said should have ended the story when he ascended the higher realm. Sigh. <<less

i am hating myself while reading it’s like I don’t want to read anymore because of the inconsistency about the morals of the main character Like on the chapter where f*cking. Why would he agree to help someone who is not even a friend of his asking for him to fight Koreans.? He is a cultivator from another world even if he is now in the body of a Chinese person! And now side story about the girls in the story are being too unreasonable and idiotic like really who... more>> do you think you are? Self important bit*h f*ck.. I will still read but really f*ck I already feel disappointed and wasting my time in this crap.

i don’t usually leave comments but f*ck this writer of this novel <<less

This novel means a lot to me, it taught me that weak people will not always be weak. No matter other people say that the plot is flat or MC is always surrounded by beautiful girls who make novels boring. But I like it, my feelings are mixed up in this novel, sometimes I'm angry, upset, sad, disappointed, happy, excited, and sometimes I laugh alone. That's what makes this novel special.

Similar it the many novels of this genre but this one has no big positives... slow building, repeated lines, an irritating and another immature female lead, 2d characterless (probably) harem members (almost every good looking innocent girl). Every villain (men unrelated to MC, pretty much everyone but 10-20ppl) is a fkin rapist/mu*derer, from whom the MC saves girls (if he feels like/has something to gain. And yeah, he IS the strongest abandoned son as well as the strongest abandoned virg*n. Half the time he is goody two shoes and doesn't... more>> care enough for half. He is both intelligent and extremely s*upid with his "ruthless killings. Pretty much a mess of a storyline overall.

On hold/left the novel after finding it revolving around a 2d company and an even more character less- cold irritating FL. <<less

ok

Not really that good. Not really that bad. OK. Read for the OP MC, not the plot. No proper harem, no mature content beyond the usual cultivation novel trope (kill, slaughter, mu*der, no sex). Might just be that author and MC was supposed to not have experience in that matter.

Early translations is a mess, only got better (from 2 to 4 out of 10) after chapter 430+. Author has an idea in his head, but just cant write it down properly. The story is a mess, basically.

The base of... more>> the story is, a follower was transmigrated by his master using a teleport charm, that for some reason moved his soul away from his world to normal earth. He might actually also be reborn instead, and only regained his memories later on. He awaken, starts to cultivate, and be the usual MC, except he doesnt seem to like woman, other than his master. He met multiple women, but doesnt seem to care enough.

Then the story gets complicated. Theres secret hidden in the world, but thats normal. There are hidden sects of ancient martial artists, people that practices, well, ancient martial arts. MC is from a cultivation world, which unlike on earth, they have proper cultivation methods and techniques and not just martial arts. So theres the MC who is a cultivator, and the earthlings who are martial artists. Obviously MC wreck them all.

Author just likes to add things in and not properly add them in. Its fine to read if you want to read. Mistakes are abound, with names being swapped around, forgotten, and even changing. I still havent figured out the topology of the world. Flowing snake is at the border of china, but not within china territory, more than half vietnam land, the rest some country called luo se. Theres also a country called yue, that randomly appears once and then no more, that also is located near Gui Lin, which is the territory where flowing snake is located. <<less

This past week, I take my time reading this novel. Never thought, I hook up reading this novel

This novel straight forward. Is all about cultivation + Chinese Mafia + Big name family + Martial fighter artist. Adding MC quite wide knowledge in Chinese medicine field and ancient artifact field benefit for cultivator.

I can say thrill reading. Didn't bored me at all.

To those rate low rating. You got to be kidding me. Please read again or read the latest chapter.

This novel is great and it is in modern day. The setting is great but somehow it lacks something because it's in modern day, things like people should not always disobey law and police should be atleast useful and this should have more modern characters that is useful today when handling cases. The MC is good and is someone who does not favor someone if that person is not worthy of his respect. He is calm, quiet and cold even to some women which is very good not like other... more>> arrogant MC that is only thinking about their d*ck but there was no big character development to him until the last couple of chapters because he is the same as usual other than gaining knowledge about Earth and how community works. The same goes for other characters (harem, female members) where some personalities do not change entirely but we are in the early state of the novel so I expect for them to change. I really don't know about the people who are writing bad reviews about this when

you have just read 3-30 chapters. I think you are just looking for people to like your own review, just continue reading cause though it does not keep getting better cause there are some annoying times, you will not hate but you will love it more and more.

Spoiler

About the misunderstanding with some female harem members, it was already solved and some of them regretted it and this is the reason why I love to read it more. About the MC used as a shield, I was also angry at her but she understood him at later chapters and regretted it and now she is looking for him which is a good change for her.

[collapse]

By the way, I rate it 4.0 because the lacking of action and MC character development but I still wait every night for this Novel to update.

Have a good read and good day <<less

Wow, every guy in this damn novel is a serial rapist mu*derer. It's fine once or twice but now it's honestly kind of ridiculous. The world is like some weird feudal system where big families have all the political power and their young masters can go around committing crimes without punishment. Author, at least give these people some noblesse oblige. They're just horrible cartoon characters for the protagonist to kill without mercy. The women are s*upid as hell too and the protagonist doesn't care one moment and then cares enough... more>> to senselessly slaughter everyone the next like he suffers from homicidal BPD. I liked the beginning when he was weak and more grounded but by the time he hits Chi Refining/gathering three the enjoyment goes way down. I liked how when he first woke up he immediately doesn't care about going to school because he knows he doesn't need it but he's just too powerful for someone who hasn't even hit Foundation. He should have just stayed as a stronger mortal with access to his crafts like talismans, runes, gear, and pills but instead he's some kind of insanely powerful magician/martial artist/divine doctor like all the other urban cultivation protagonists. I also liked that when he reincarnated he was just a Foundation Establishment nobody and not some almighty know-it-all Supreme who ruled the North or whatever but in the end he seems to know and be good at too much considering his background. The author squandered his origin. There is also the rushed progression that plagues other stories.

It's been less than 2 years and he's already achieved so much and is always in a hurry to do things for no reason. It's gotta go here, gotta do that. Oh, someone messed with me or my friends so now gotta take care of that now. What? They had backers? Now I need to travel across the country and take care of them. Meanwhile another friend got the attention of another serial rapist because they're too beautiful or whatever but I got a hint that some legendary treasure is in another location. It's frenetic and annoying and I don't care anymore.

Spoiler

As an example of the rushed progression, the protagonist decides to start a business and his own faction. How does he do this? He clears out a border town filled with the usual scum at the bottom of society and then gets a soldier that he just finds on a train to be the leader of his business. What's his business? Well, who knows because he never explained it to him (a soldier who knows nothing about running a business or a faction). Why does he trust this man? I don't know. I guess he just seems trustworthy. He just tells him that he will be in charge of this town. The second in command is a guy that used to run a gang so poorly that he's been on the verge of death several times. The only person that may have some business sense is a woman that he saved fresh out of uni that has been r*ped and beaten for years that he also found on the same train that he found the soldier! What about his online doctor business from before? Well, I don't know. His student has been beaten up at least three times and his mansion apparently still exists and has an array around it but it hasn't been mentioned anymore since the last time he returned there. I wouldn't be surprised if he was beaten up yet again though.

[collapse]

The author also decided to use nine levels of Chi refining (in a previous chapter there were twelve) to hit foundation instead of the usual early-intermediate-high-peak so it's going to be a slog in terms of chapter count to rank up even with the protagonist finding legendary herbs and treasures (and being shocked every time) but as I said, he's already too powerful and able to face roll every other sect or faction on Earth.

The translation as others have said is all over the place as well. It's like after the first few chapters the editor just stopped giving a crap and there's missing words in sentences and sentences that don't make sense because the word order is incorrect. A basic example of this are people's titles, Brother Ye will suddenly become Ye brother. At various points in the story progression the translator would stop translating certain words for no reason. For example art into shu or Qian Bei instead of Senior. That's really annoying to read. Seriously, stop it. You're earning money to translate so the quality of your work should stay above par or even stay at par and not be substandard.

Still, it didn't have a horrible start compared to many others but there's a lot of things that make me want to slam my head into the desk as other reviewers have pointed out. I think I'm going to drop it. I finished reading other urban cultivator novels and persisting when it gets annoying in the hopes of it getting better never works out. <<less

Alright, I rarely read novels below 4.0, but I'm glad I did with this one because it is underrated. It is not anywhere near as bad a something like Zhan Long or Martial God Asura, which this is getting pretty closely rated to by now.

The rating for this should be around a 4.0, it isn't amazing, it is even generic, but it isn't a tr*sh novel with a non-existent storyline and/or extremely annoying MC. The worst parts I've seen are first, it devolves into a generic xanxia world novel, there... more>> is a harem and it is extremely 1-dimensional/cookie cutter, and it suffers from the nearly faceless new enemy every 50 chapters syndrome. That said, the good aspects are 1) it starts off in an alternate Earth without devolving into disgusting racism/sexism, 2) the MC is consistent and fairly intelligent, and doesnt have an overwhelming starting ability, 3) it doesn't pad/repeat chapters/arcs ridiculously, which is probably the biggest reason many xanxia's go straight into the tr*sh novel category 4) I feel a desire to keep reading it, the situations do change, and the MC hasn't disgusted me yet after 1000+ chapters. <<less

I got pretty far into this novel through a website that compiles stories. No sharing. You can google stuff too.

Overall I liked it alot. Binged it for the last few weeks.

My reasons I kept reading:

    1. The MC ramps up in power over time and the plot thickens along with him. So it keeps pace with his power and challenges have meaning as a result.
    1. The women of his harem grow and develop over time in the story. The author actually doesn't forget them. 1300 chapters later we do still... more>> have the gals from the first 100 chapters showing up and interacting with our MC. Which is actually really remarkable about this story. Alot of other stories the gals are 'bam bam, thank you ma'am' and gone.
    1. World building is good. Author mixes modern world and culturing world in the first couple of hundred chapters. Eventually the author does swing over to a full culturing arc....
Overall it was a good read. Now I have to let it bank again for more chapters... then more binging... so if you do find my points not too big of a turn off. Then give this a read.

EDIT 060320: The Ending s**ked. Seriously, it did. I waited and then did some research and yeah. It seems the author had issues with the qidian people and so he cut his work short. I suspect there may have been enough material for another 100 chapters. Because that sudden cut was too sharp. So the Ending chapter was not really one. Up to there, the story was ok. Still some interesting twists.... then cut. WTF. Oh well. Readers be warned. <<less

I really liked this one. There's hardly any modern setting xuanhuan out there, and I think this one is kinda the best I guess.

The premise is very similar to genius sword immortal. The thing that's better is that it actually feels more modern, and not a xianxia world with buildings, cars, and guns, with nothing else that I can see in real life. I also like how the pacing is fast, we don't spend an entire arc inside a cave with a girl. And I just read this tonight, but... more>> I noticed how it updates once a day, which means this will be the fifth story on qidian that I will be following. My only complaint is that MC really needs to explain sometimes. Although everything's resolved now, and he even looks better than he should have in the eyes of others, it doesn't justify how many times I wanted to puke blood just by thinking on how many people misunderstand him. In fact, now that I realized it, it's actually very amazing how every single person he met on earth misunderstands him!

Anyways, really good story, looking forward to his medical miracles in the future. <<less
