After five years, Ning Xi has returned and is out to take revenge on the sister who turned her parents against her and the childhood sweetheart who betrayed her for her sister. She aims to fulfill her childhood dream and become a famous actress. However, her sister is still out to get her, and she has to avoid all her underhanded schemes.

One day, after falling into one of her sisters’ schemes, she meets an adorable kid and saves him. This is how Ning Xi found herself staying at the autistic little kid’s house to help him come out of his shell. Slowly, his father, Lu Tingxiao, starts falling for her too.

This could finish in 700 chapters, easily. After 400+ I started speed passing the evil sister chapters, the ML's blockheaded parents and showbiz parts with petty evil actresses. Nothing new happens in those chapters. It's the same sh*t every time. I was thinking like "OH if I ignore the petty parts the story wasn't that bad. I'm enjoying it." But no, 1800+'s were so empty that, it makes you regret that you cared about the characters. After what happened to the FL, ML supposed to be fuss over for her... more>> health but in couple chapters, he becomes like a forgotten character.
Showbiz is the main plot here. Throw a couple of new evil actresses and it's fine. Btw don't think you'll encounter a new antagonist. It's the same character evil every d*mn time.
Don't bother reading it.

This is a loooong book. So long I'm not even going to pretend I didn't skip chapters. The thing is normally when I find long and finished books I dance for joy especially when it's full of face slapping like in this book. However, even flap slapping became boring in the face of this book. It's repetitive, repetitive, repetitive and the story is to cliche to be this repetitive. It gets to the point you wish it would hurry up and end. BUT IT DOES'NT END! It just goes on... more>> and on and on to the point you wonder how people this s*upid can be this successful and rich. Even the villains became someone I hated not just because they were evil and never got caught and the book was too long for them to only get caught at the end. This neverending factor mixed in with the unneeded and cliche (easy to see coming) twist made the book go from a good starting book to something nearly unbearable. Everything book had me saying "HURRY UP ALREADY"! Even the characters romance took about 600 chapters and believe me that 600 chapter wait was unneeded. What I'm trying to say is unless you have a lot of time to spare and kinda hate yourself then don't read this book and if you read this don't read all the chapter IT'S NOT WORTH IT! <<less

This story, admittedly is cliched.

However that in itself does not detract from the glorious hilarity that this story leaves you. I will admit that I enjoy the scenes that the story invokes in my mind. Coming from reading reincarnation stories this is a breath of fresh air. I suspect that Xuelou's act may have change Ning Xi's and Lt TingXiao's fate laying the foundation for her, Xuelou's, fall from grace.

Well... this is my first time reviewing.

The story is promising at first. But gradually, it become a ridiculous story. The romance is too slow. Too many plot holes, too many side character, too many unfinished side character's story, antagonists don't really get what they deserve. And boy.. what I hate the most is how ridiculous the assassin is about. What's with the unhuman strength? Come on. It's a modern day romance!!! And what's with the ending? I feel so pathetic after finishing this novel.

I seriously love the little Bun! Too cute!

Anyway, so far, the story is pretty good. The MC isn't a pushover, and to me, that is very important. She also doesn't depend too much or not at all to the ML.

The chapters are short so be warned but well, it's very fulfilling once the interaction between the MC, ML, and the little Bun happens or when the MC has tr*shed the MA's plans. Hohoho!

Overall, it's worth the read. I haven't really read ahead since I get a headache reading... more>> MTL....I feel like my brain cells die one by one once I read it...I really should study Chinese language. (If I ever stop being lazy lol) <<less

This novel is great! The translation is good (as all the translations coming from volarenovels). I love the relationship between the characters in particular in the Lu famil. It’s so funny XD. I like how independent Ning Xi is and how hard she tries to get to the top on her own even though she could depend on her connections. Of course you still have those annoying bad and self-centred characters (which remind me a lot of the characters in First Marriage Then Love by the way) and seems like... more>> it will get a long time before she gets passed this hurdle. I can’t wait for Ning Xi and Lu Tingxiao relationship to develop, she doesn’t seem to have really develop any feelings for him yet T^T ! <<less

While this story is your feel-good protagonist-beats-all typical story, this story builds a lot on her somewhat mysterious, dangerous, and tragic past. Even though at chapter 1919 she still doesn't know who she slept with years ago and that her baby is alive, I'm okay with it because this story develops the human relationships and emotions as the hidden truth - the secrets - changes and develops the characters themselves. At parts, it may feel draggy but I read it raw and keep up with it daily. Since approximately 6 chapters are released daily, the cliffhangers are approximately 6 chapters apart and gets me begging for more. Also, since 6 chapters are released daily, I have a good pace and it is exciting. Compared to those who read the English translations released here, which are no doubt really well translated chapters, I think I get much more excitement and love for this novel in its raw version than those who read the slower but well translated English versions here. Just because the raws are faster paced and that they reveal the language artistry of the author. I love this novel. No doubt one of my favorite novels of all time. I recommend the novel. If you can read traditional or simplified Chinese characters, I strongly recommend searching up the raw version, which is quite an easy read. However, the English translations here also do a really good job so, definitely, read it!!!

Story wise - this honestly is less than a 3. But this is THE novel that got me into webnovels after seeing a snippet of it advertised on social media lol

I still reread it as it has become my comfort novel even if I’ve read far better ones at this point in time. Still my only complaint with every single reread is how Little Treasure basically disappears from the story when he’s such an important reason of why I started reading this. Also, the last arc with the mafia is... more>> just... honestly horrible and so unnecessary. <<less

This novel here is a cliche done so many times that it’s funny. But, at least it’s a cliche that’s been done a lot better than the other ones that I’ve read. This web novel is what got me into reading CNovels which in turn led me to read KNovels as well. (It’s technically the first CNovel that I’ve read and completed)

So basically the ML and FL were both technically uh... forced to perform baby making against their will and then voila, we have our darling precious baby treasure (no matter how unrealistic it is for a baby to be that well behaved and not annoying at all I don’t care, he’s an absolute treasure) and like it’s implied (sorta?) that baby treasure is the FL’s son but she doesn’t know that until near the end.

So, in conclusion, don’t read this if you’ve already read multiple CNovels that are in a similar genre to this one (unless you want to see how it’s supposed to be done). It’s basically a collection of contemporary CNovel cliches done well (in my opinion anyways).

Plus it doesn’t have the generic cold domineering/overbearing CEO ML that other contemporary CNovels have, I mean yes he is all of those things but he at least understands what boundaries are and actually cares about the FL and doesn’t force himself (his desires/feelings) on the FL without her consent and friggin understands that she has trauma thanks to her “sister”. And! He actually felt responsible and guilty for the night lil treasure was conceived (cause FL has trauma) despite the fact that it wasn’t his fault and that he’s technically the victim too. This is the main reason why I didn’t drop it like the other ones I’ve read. (Gee thanks LTX for raising my standards when looking for novels with good MLs.)

This review is very late cause I actually read this story back in 2017 and this was actually one of the first modern chinese webnovel I read.

First of all I will say that this novel is full of flaws and has a lot of toxicity in it which I didn't realise at first but slowly became clear to me later.

The main leads are practically superhuman and are definitely Mary/Gary Stu's. Also the kid. Gosh that is not how a child behaves. Gifted or not children do not behave that way.

Also... more>> the romance is so badly written. (Romance from being set up and drugged isn't ok)

All the characters in the story are so emotionally stunted (dense) it makes me want to smash my head.

Also the plot. At first there was some sort of proper plot but when the story introduced the second ML and FL's backstory and drama it was too much. Also the ending arc was super weirdly paced and came out of nowhere.

While I did enjoy the face slapping and popcorn moments and completed this novel, now in 2021 I would never recommend this to others.

This is tr*sh and should burn. <<less

The most overrated thing i've ever read/seen, is full of plotholes and everyone is acting so different than normal people... seems like something pretty normal in Chinese romance novels like this... always, money doesn't matter, but you literally can't find a novel like this where the ML ain't some rich dude that's in his twenties

Or I was the only one who missed it?

Okay It was Anna who did that!

But HOW?

WHY? For bla bla bla reason to make the ML feel pain

But HOW?

Both ML and FL were drugged.

How did Anna know that? Even if she somehow found (which even both ML and FL didn't know) and how was she sure FL would get pregnant from that one time?

And even if she spend so much energy to search for the girl who got knocked up and also got pregnant how did she get hands on the child? (Remember little treasure was born early due to accident)

And then she poisoned the baby with only 7 years to live.... But did she not recognize the FL as the girl from the past (if she knew the past story) but still became her "friend" (when FL "saved" her life (Anna's who is the second best martial artist of the world and has unprecedended medical skills)) and was still planning to kill her "friend's child"......

IN THE END HOWWW DID LITTLE TREASURE REACHED ML!!!!!

It was FL who gave birth and didn't know the child's father.... infact nobody knew their past before.... so did Anna really planned from their unexpected one night stand, unexpected pregnancy, unexpected early labour, REALLY?

Or I am the only one going crazy here????

Hi, for rating this novel...I registered here... it's five stars from me....I read this novel in 2018 and after that I read countless novels but this one is most dear to me... it's really s priceless gem... total entertainment package... it's beautiful novel...a cute romantic love story but the journey is adventures and hillarious... She is one of the strong female lead I have read... and big bun and small bun are my cutie pies... and the second ML and the villan 😤 are no lesser than ML....I really loved... more>> and enjoyed this novel... till now I already read it 3 times over the years... and I m still craving for one more time... plz give it a try....❤️💚💛 <<less

If you are thinking about reading this, please do. Worthy to binge read, but if I happen to read this while it's updating, I'll probably be never be able to finish this.

I came back to this about 5 times. I was just bored at the start. Idk how it manages to have many things going on while not moving anything. So, I keep dropping this. Only in the fifth reading did I manage to read further. If you're like me, just keep reading. Maybe you'll find it interesting later on.

more... more>> than anything, I enjoyed reading about her career. Reading about her acting, appearance on various awards show, I like them

I like it that the author introduces us to each of her projects and what they mean for her career. Now, I cannot move on. I keep on wanting to read stories about acting, but there are none. I haven't yet encountered any novels that gives so much details in the roles.

The romance and the child is also cute. But what kept me is really her career. I'm hungry for acting novels please. This novel feels like giving me a taste of that, but in the end this is a romance novel. It didn't satisfy my hunger and just made me want to crave for more. Please suggest novels about acting.

however the marriage part is actually around 1000+ chapters. Like it came at the third quarter of this. The feeling s came in early but there are a lot of inhibitions. The romance is really slow, around 700+ chapters did they managed to get together.

2/3-4 Star for me??? Why??? Well because it is very rare to find a story that can remain stable and have a good plot when they have more than 2000 pages, although this does not cover some minor that flaws here and there but it's still tolerable.

I honestly dub this my guilty pleasure read because it's hilariously kind of garbo & predictable but it hits all of my favorite criteria.

Cute baby, hot rich stoic ML with a heart seeping with love for the MC, absurd villains & major face-slaps on all levels, switched at birth, beautiful MC (might as well make it idealistic & fantastical as possible), the entertainment industry (personal delight), etc.

The reason as to why I enjoy this would be equivalent to why I read shoujo manga in spite of their lackluster plot. It... more>> gives me serotonin! I usually turn off my brain when I'm reading webnovels at this caliber & I wholly recommend the strategy to everyone else. This is an easy read (albeit terribly long), but I think it satisfies the sometimes shallow-minded me. Not everyone's cup of tea, but it's personally entertaining. <<less

I tried... I loved

Perfect sweet love: the bad new wife is a little sweet so I wanted to give this a proper chance even when I wanted to skim, skip parts, was met with many tropes and clich

s that weren't very well-executed. After reading 333 chapters, I feel like I've given it a fair chance but there are too many things that do not sit well with me, so I'm dropping this:

    • Exaggerated insta-love and possessiveness by the ML
    • Poor romantic development
    • Over the top entertainment industry b*tchiness, it's so not nuanced, and isn't even funny unlike in her other books
    • The ML oversteps boundaries - he goes beyond being domineering to taking advantage of the FL repeatedly when she is unconscious/sleeping (I don't find this remotely romantic)
    • No feels - even the interactions with the cute little bun fall flat

Binged this novel.

I laughed to the antics of Lu Jingli, annoyed to Ning Xuelo, cried to Ning Lingtian, blushed to Lu Tingxiao.... They made the novel a roller coaster.

To this novel where it has 2, 165 chapters, you will see that there are repeated scene just with different characters.

... more>> Repeated accusations, defamations and many mouth tr*sh talks.

But it build the solid foundation of the Female Lead in her chosen path in entertainment.

Love the Ending. ❤️❤️❤️

Read and you will enjoy it.

This is one of the few novels I've been reading waaaaay back when I was just venturing the CN world. I absolutely love it. Why? I honestly don't know. This is an emotional roller coaster novel that's really unforgettable, it never left my library and I re-read my fave chapters from time to time.

  • Ning Xi finally waking up after coma would still make me feel that excitement.
  • Those scenes of Ning Xi's comeback in the industry would still make me feel that elation.

It's hard to actually moved on from this novel.

Furthermore, this is a novel. Imagination and creativity are the foundations of a novel, so don't expect that it'll be realistic even if set in the modern timeline. Please expect lots of face-slapping instead, it'll satisfy you. I believe that we read to have fun and not speculate if it will happen in real life. Readers should also be mindful of the tags under this novel as it was kind of complex like the other works of this author.

It's just saddening that those who gave really low ratings are not even at 1/4 of the story. <<less

aaaaaaaaaaaaaah this is my first novel

c'mon I haven't ever read a novel more than 5 chapters and suddenly I read it and the whole book I am also surprised by myself started reading during my hindi board exams day and then I cant just stop reading highly recommended to everyone (for a better view you can also start by reading the comic version for first few ch if you are a total newcommer like me bak then)

oh the plot I love it you want action (its book second love... more>> I suppose) , romance (what else if not it), love triangle (hmmm, can consider), acting (c'mon its whole acting drama with full use of webo fights, slanders, praises, criticisms) , lu jingli (my personal favourite character-funny, not at all innocent and sometimes pitifull{he and his vegetables u can also add his romance life}) , little bun (aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah so cute, cold, intelligent, and can choose wisely since he choses his mom's side over dad hehe), comedy (dont know how to stop sometimes), sad (a bit at end) , comastage (luv the time of comeback after it) , plastic surgery (yeah a cannon fodder got it), revenge, child abuse, underworld, guns.....

okay what else left out

a pure lovestory about a cold appearing CEO (yeah he is much more considerate than any other ML I have ever read so far, , 'cough ' this novel made me a novel lover so dont doubt my experience okay you will understand later though) and a girl (oh how can I define ning xi u really need to read the whole book okay, she is just cool, knows how to mock people, sometimes lazy sometimes kind with an past with guns)
