It was Yan Zhaoge’s first time transmigrated into another world. He landed in a martial warrior civilization that was at the peak of prosperity. He ended up in the Divine Palace’s library, which collected and preserved the classics of the entire world from all fields of knowledge. However, a world-class calamity struck soon after, and even the Divine Palace was destroyed.

Yan Zhaoge’s soul once again transmigrated into another world. The twist was he arrived in the same world, except countless years have passed.

With his brain full of rare books and classics from the era of peak prosperity, Yan Zhaoge’s second transmigration to the present era was like a gamer who was used to playing hell mode suddenly finding himself playing the game on easy mode.

That was just way too awesome.

But before that, he would need to fix a problem.

“I’m not the main character? In fact, I’m actually the main character’s love rival and the antagonistic Mr. Perfect senior brother? This script is wrong!”

Very good!

Made me addicted even though most of the things are quite common in other novels. Yet the way the author presents them and the unique way the MC views everything makes the novel opposite of the ordinary.

Yan Zhaoge is a genius, and his journey is immensely enjoyable to read.

Liked it very much!

When the reason a novel gets you irked not because of its bad quality or repetitiveness, at such an early amount of words, it really has to be done wrongly.

We start with a MC who has done several things already and who seems to also had been an unknown time in his second reincarnation, alright. And so, we are told in the first few dozens of chapters of thing #1, thing #2 and so on, so that all his troubles are resolve by talking.

Okay, whatever.

But then, AE doesn't stop introducing... more>> characters and making them talk like they've been bored for decades without being able to. Conversations that nobody f*cking asked from nobody who you know or are in the least interested in.

See that beauty? She is a beauty, it says so, so imagine it. Good, good boy. Good reader.

There is absolutely nothing that makes me want to read the next chapter, I don't even know how I ended up reading 52 chapters, must be the fact that each one appears to be long when instead is Korean-like where they abuse writing ten words or less and then going ahead for the next line, over and over again.

Mm mm, no, I'm not enduring this. I even just woke up when I began reading again some more, and just no, I got insta irritated.

Edit: The MC also has some sort of smugness and incredible personality, AE hints at it with how 'not like the other novels' his novel is. But then, the conversations and typical words of other novels are still there, just that they are now then forced and cringy.

The same as his other similar novel where he yoinked readers from other successful authors, the same characteristics and the same personality. Just that their points of view are different 'cause one of them is doing a different thing than the other.

And the way in which you are supposed to be okay with being introduced one-way-personality only characters between males, females and neutral, side characters and enemies and allies; just too insulting. <<less

Honestly, the premise and story aren't horrible or anything, but the story massively suffers from an overabundance of telling rather than showing. There are several paragraphs of boring info dumps to explain every character, place, item, technique, etc. In excruciating detail. It's a slog to read, but barely entertaining enough to keep going. May update this later if I find the story has improved.

The synopsis is a total fraud, the "real" MC is only around for the firsts arcs, then the novel's MC becomes the MC.

However, it does not mean that the novel is bad or something like that, in fact, it is really, really, really a good novel, especially the first world, then it just becomes a bit more procrastinating, but still good (although not compared to the power/political (not some masterpiece plays but enjoyable) plays of the Eight Extremities World).

Definitely recommended.

Round of applause for this light novel. After some frustration with HN1F initially, I was quite attracted to the Strong to Stronger tags and synopsis of HSSB, and it did not disappoint. Recently, it's been rare for me to read over 500 chapters of a light novel, and while I won't deny having over 900 chapters translated definitely helped, HSSB also satisfied almost all of my current LN preferences.

It's been quite a whirlwind of LN reading recently. After a period of LN ennui, I took up LNs again with some... more>> BL novels, then stallion novels, and then some normal male MC cultivation novels. Like I rant in most of my reviews, YZ has basically all of the characteristics I look for in MCs: genius, clever, shameless, confident, and OP. It's nice reading about a character who actually has a relatively strong background and powerful strength instead of the tr*sh reincarnation trope. Plus, the beginning third of the story focused on the MC being the cannon fodder type, which happily reminded me of FOD, one of my favorite novels. YZ defeating each of these "MCs" that had some hilarious stereotypical tropes was pretty hilarious and definitely reminiscent of something the author of HN1F would do. The addition of an even stronger OP dad and their amusing interactions was endearing, especially with all of those stories where the MC grows up really quickly thus leaving behind their families in the lower realms or something.

Despite YZ facing some pretty strong opponents, I was always confident that he would be able to get away basically scot-free, thus saving the tension and frustration and more thinking about how he would destroy them or escape. Now that I think back on it, I don't seem to remember any times so far where he is injured past just a minor injury or exhaustion. That's the level of OPness I love. The one thing I was pretty dissatisfied with was the almost lack of romance. YZ and FY get together in the 500s and finally kiss in the 900s, with basically no affectionate dialogue or actions between them in any of the other chapters. Please. It seems from all of the male MC novels that I've read so far, the MCs always fall into one of the two extremes: harem or almost nonexistent romance (of course, or BL). Male MC novels with a single female love interest don't seem to be very common/prominent. Comparatively, the female MC cultivation novels often have a strong OP love interest. Sigh.

While the plot is still quite engaging, the LNMTL for HSSB isn't as great as for others, so I'll probably wait to accumulate some more chapters/time before I read forward. Meanwhile I'll move on to trying some new novels. Would recommend HSSB with enthusiasm. <<less

It is good if you have started this before reading number 1 founder and/or Library of heaven's path.

But once you have discovered the two above and about to read this. Thread on lightly. Because this one feels slow and frustrating at times.

I got bored and dropped this one. Maybe in the future I will try and pick this up again. But not for now. I recommend this one because I think some will enjoy this. But it is not my kind of flavor. Like eating vanilla ice cream, you know... more>> many will like it. But it is hard for you yourself to like it. <<less

I liked History's #1 founder so I expected it to follow the same.

It was enjoyable the first thirty or so chapters as the title of the story did apply appropriately. Though how it deals with things in quite a bloody way makes it quite disturbing to me.

Spoiler

I thought he'd win them over with his profound knowledge and charisma, but instead the characters are cannon fodder to fuel the plot.
Its hard to know which characters are spin-offed from which novel unless you're a dedicated reader on qidan.

[collapse]

You'd have potentials being persuaded to follow the MC in History's#1Founder, but in this novel, the MC is literally cannon fodder for all other characters but avoids such a fateful disaster through wit and charisma along OP cheats.
//

I kept going till that point as I was glad there was little to no romance. I hate love-driven plots, and if anything like History's#1, hopefully you don't have to expect romance till way later in the novel. <<less
