First I would like to point out that most of the low rated reviews stopped reading really early.

From that I would like you as a reader to endure through the seemingly s*upid beginning to the novel.

This novel has comedy that most other novels can't hope to match, and that is not even the best point of the novel.

This novel has an ingenius system that allows the side characters to show their worth and make you as a reader appreciate them. Then let the scrafices of these characters end well with... more>> a sacrafice on the MC's part as his form of appreciation for them.

The author is able to create seemingly obvious or ridiculous options appear, only for the plot to reveal details from 100s of chapters ago to blow your mind.

Trust me, the author doesn't forget his details. <<less

The series definitely has some potential, however the MC acts like an autistic nine year old so I have some doubts the story is going to pick up.

What we have is a MC from a parrell world (Why even have him come from a parell world?) to a similar world except with monsters and heros. The MC is 13 years old (acts like he is nine though) and has "choices" which he must complete or time rewinds. Story is hardly unique as we have seen variations of "absolute choice" before,... more>> additionally the story so far is lackluster as the first choice which was supposed to be dramatic fall flat due to a obnoxious main character in my opinon. The characters he meets up with afterwords are flat and uninteresting. As well as one character being a blatant rip of one punch man, and not a good rip off either. Actually it seems every character in this novel is ripped off some other work as I read along, the characters are still lifeless though. The main character is one dimensional and never does anything interesting. He seems to me to be a mary sue in a unoriginal story. This looks to me like a work of a complete amateur.

However as I read more the story is pretty interesting, however every chapter I whisper to myself "don't f*ck this up" because I feel like the story is on the edge. I am still on the fence on this novel because I feel like the author is stretching the story too thin, the author is kind of going all other the place with superheros, choices, and glorifying the MC. The absolute choices only happen when the story starts to run out of steam. The problem with that, is that the absolute choices happen too irregularly to make it seem a natural part of the story, and then most of the absolute choices seem awkwardly inserted into the story. It can quickly degrade from a interesting read into a illogical mess of a novel. I change my review from 2/5 to 4/5

8/6/17

While it is not a bad novel, it is obvious to anyone who has kept up with the chapters that the author has no plans whatsoever for where to bring the plot. Each chapter is an eternal filler, as the author constantly pulls stuff out of his ass until the arc gets so bloated its impossible to create anymore filler.

This novel is pretty good. One of my favorites. You just have to ignore the 8th grade syndrome at the beginning and that's it. I almost didn't read this because people were complaining about it but I'm glad I did in the end.

One tiny complain I have about this is that apparently the novel is on hiatus, don't know much about it.

Also, I don't know if this novel will be harem or not.

This story is basically Hero Academy meets Hunter x Hunter and One Punch Man. So far it seems to be a good mix of action and comedy, but the story hasn't been translated far enough to reveal much else. CKTalon is a wonderful translator and pretty much every series he touches is worth a read.

Nice start, the plot has enough interesting points to keep me reading. Although, "This king" thing is becoming quite repetitive, I block it out the same way I do it with other arrogant MCs in other Wuxia novels.

I don't see any traces of romance at this point, but I believe the time loop element in the novel is enough to keep you reading

Read this fully before reading the novel.

What you need to understand is that this novel has a severe lack of originality. It is literally an amalgamation of everyone else's work thrown together in a new genre. Characters are copied, exact scenes from anime are replicated, even the mc's superpower is copied from an anime that many of you may have seen.

The second issue is the pacing of the novel. Due to it copying many other already produced ideas, it feels like it is skipping from one anime to another at... more>> different speeds due to arcs that are full of different cliche and common tropes. There are many parts that are an excellent read, while in between are events that make you want to flip tables, leaving you unsure whether to call the novel good or not.

It's not like there is no original thoughts in the novel, it's just the blatant plagiarism far overshadows it. It has/had a lot of potential it could use, but much of it is wasted.

If I was to metaphorically describe this novel, it would be extremely similar to an art gallery. The white wash walls are the blank potential that could have been used, the paintings are all other people's work, while only the paintings frames are the original content. Now you know what to expect in this novel. If it was told with better pacing and consistency, I would rate it a four star, if its original content wasn't buried beneath copying other people's creations, I could even give it an ingenious 5 star, but it is all a matter of opinion. Mine of which saw a lack of those two items and here we are, 3 stars. <<less

Read for the humor and absolutely cute main character. Although, the misunderstanding can get out of hand and I wish they were resolved at times, its still entertaining to read for most. Also, the anticipation it builds up in you seriously makes one crave and wish for more. I hope it gets update frequently. Sorry for the lack of proper English. Currently 3am after binge reading :P

As a short one-shot, this would be good comedy. As a long-running serial, it gets old real fast. The MC is not particularly likeable, and the chuni behavior is eye-rollingly irritating after the first 20 chapters or so. Even the core premise (the choices) gets watered down or ignored if the author chooses.

Absolute choice is about a boy transfered into a world of super heroes. He gets to awaken his power and cultivate it with some power levels like what you would see in chinese novels. The MC turned out to be a genius that keep surprising everyons. With a bit of comedy and action going along with it.

Absolute choice started out pretty great. It was a fresh journey hosted by a genius MC. Although there are some plagiate characters, but it is nicely done.

But along the way, the chapters just lose... more>> more and more content. It jugles the story in the same place and the author keep telling some stuff over and over again without any substance. You can see how the author is just stalling for word count for the money through qidian website.a practice that many chinese author do which I personally hate.

For example. The author will make a character tell MC a story that the information is already been given with almost 95% of the content from the past chapters. But while he does that, the POV will switch to character B to tell how it think the MC is great. Then it will switch to character C telling us how he thinks the MC is better compared to some other character, while character D is dissing the MC thinking he isnt as great as the said characters. And after 10 or so chapters, then you will get the 5% new content that doesnt even effect the plot line that much.

The story just become a hot mass of repetition that have no substance like that... <<less

Let's just say that this novel is very special. The author truly has an affinity for chaos. The pros of this novel are as follows:
- decent character interaction/development; even if it's because of the author's chaotic plotlines.
- pretty nice cultivation/action the MC is unique in the aspect that you don't really know what he is capable off. The abilities in this novel are also interesting and fresh, even if sometimes silly.
- Innocence: the MC is probably the most innocent MC you will ever see in a Chinese... more>> novel. It's not that he is weak minded or dumb. He is decently cunning and sometimes extremely smart.
- Mystery: The characters are all mysterious, most are not what they seem.

The cons:
- plotline: the author is a real people pleaser, as evident in the many author notes. The author mixes the plotline up in sometimes extremely silly ways, just so that the plot isn't 'cookiecutter'.

Pros/cons (depending on the person)
- Chuuni: some like chunni and others don't. I don't, therefore, this is a big negative at least it was at the start, as the MC seemed overly innocent/naive this just seemed to be too much of a one-sided character. This, however, gets much better later on.
- Chaotic: The story won't go as you predict. The author has gone out of his way to make sure that the story is as chaotic as possible while still having a coherent plotline. You can predict some things, however, most will likely be changed or mystified in ways you can't yet imagine.

This novel is not for everyone if you as a reader can get past the first dozen chapters then it gets really awesome and interesting. It is pleasant to see the MC solve problems in truly 'imaginative' ways.

It really is interesting to see where this story goes! <<less

I liked the plot, I found it interesting to an extent. But its really annoying, I understand that the personality of the MC was introduced that way at the begining of the novel to add some comedy to the plot but come on, how long is this " king complex" personality going to continue?? The MC is sometimes portrayed as smart, and other times as a total mentally individual... The more I read the more I get frusterated at how he gets away with things with just pure luck, when... more>> he himself doesn't know left from right. Maybe the author trying to funny, I just don't get this childish humor <<less

This novel test my patience and not in a good way but objectively the story is fresh and doesn't fall for the same cliche but it is not for me. I usually don't have any problem with arrogant MC as I quite like emperor's domination but if you are arrogant you should have the ability to backup that arrogance but this novel the arrogance is on the point where you start to question whether MC is an idiot. I am sure there are many who would argue with me about... more>> how he is not arrogant and what not, but to me any person who calls himself "This King" has to have the ability to backup the title. Though I am giving a 4 star only for the uniqueness of the novel and creativity of the author other than that the MC is very annoying to me.

Edit: as the story progresses the MC becomes less annoying but still annoying though so far nothing has happened to put the series in my instant rejection list but the author keeps creating situation where I am very annoyed by the MC none the less the story is still somewhat enjoyable that is the only reason I am still reading it though the rating will remain same if nothing happens <<less

MC is transported to another world with superheroes (think boku no hero academia). There is this misterious voice (God?) that freezes time in important times and gives him choices on how to behave. Depending on how he behaves and what choice he makes he will be rewarded or punished. The series has a fun and "dont take this serious" tone to it, so it can get away with some stuff other series wouldnt. The author makes some literary mistakes in the begining, but he really evolves as the story progresses.... more>> There is a lot of chunnibyou on this series, and that is somewhat justified. There are 3 things I absolutelly love about this series:

1 - AC is very psychological, the narrator is always inside the mind of the characters, we know everything they are thinking and every action they take is explained. Some people hate this because it makes the plot advance at a slower pace.

2 - The creativity of the writing, it just looks so fresh from the other stuff I read.

Exemple:
Spoiler

“Listen well, This King’s true identity is... the King of kings! Be it the king of humans, the king of Celestials, the king of Infernals, or the other kings of the myriad worlds, they all bow before This King as his subjects and would loudly proclaim ‘Sire’. This King created good and evil. This King rules over the goodness and evilness of the myriad worlds and because of This King’s existence, the war between good and evil could come to a pause. As This King trampled on the ambitions of the various kings, peace was ushered into the myriad worlds.”

[collapse]

3 - There are a few gold nuggets hidden in the story. At some points you are reading and you are presented with a very deep and touching moment that makes you stop and reflect on it.
BIG PROBLEM: the author is on a hiatus right now, at chapter 555 <<less

The beginning chapters of this novel are a little tedious. There is a lot of parody involved and there are quite a few bumps on the road. However, this becomes a great story after you reach a certain point. The author seems to finally decide his style and creates a very interesting story. I'm not s*upid enough to say it is perfect, but this story definitely deserves more positive reviews. If you are debating whether or not to drop it, just give it a couple more chapters.

This novel has a lot of lackluster bullsh*t throughout. The author is trying to write his way out of a paper bag and he's failing. There are moments where the novel is kinda fun, but mostly cliche and filler.

God, the thing that kills the me most is that the author makes this a "pseudo-mystery" and leaves you "clues" but the clues are actually all lies! You can't build a case with false information! That makes no sense! It's bad writing!

And so is writing in Saitama as a homage character! It... more>> was completely unnecessary!

I enjoyed a few things about it, and I hate a decent amount of things about. I guess that's why I gave it a 3.

Recommend? Dunno. <<less

So this novel is about our 'chuuni' (or so he's been described to me) MC who has suddenly wound up in a different world.
now, I know some people don't like the thought of chuuni MCs but I find the Main character truly not like that. He is insecure. About the fact that he's not strong. So he boosts his confidence by overexaggerating himself and saying things about himself which others would describe as 'chuuni'.
There is misunderstandings in this novel they are easily ignorable and act that way... more>> because of how people percieve about our MC. And they don't matter in the long run which is nice.
The characters are nice, and I find the way they are written interesting. But it does quickly (100+ chapters) go to overwhelmingly powerful standards. Not in the MC but what we learn about the world around us. It's either telling us the final boss and if not, then let's us expect it to go in the thousands of chapters in the future.
nice read
and I recommend it!
and good job to the translator cause they be tling it hella fast <<less

Up to this point this novel has shown a lot of potential.

The World is one of (Super-) heroes and threats from outer space/other dimensions/ monsters. The heroes power comes from psionic cultivation, therefore the Xuanhuan tag. The MC, a 13 year old child, has somehow been transported there and now has the Absolute Choice system to help/hinder him. The story progresses with the MC becoming part of a the hero-organisation Gaia and and his live there while trying to become a hero. The story often subverts your expectations by having... more>> things turn out in a unusual way. People have been complaining that some parts of the story make no sense the explanation for the respective problem is usually given some time later.

The MC has a good personality (which is rare for Chinese male MCs) and has been shown to be very intelligent in certain areas. He refers to himself as 'This King' most of the time and talks in a very Chuunibyou-like way. This might annoy some people but his actions aren't because he has delusions about himself or his non existent power. In fact he knows exactly how weak he is. To avoid spoilers I will just say that he has his reasons and that they will be explained within the first 55 chapters. There is a variety of interesting side-characters many of which seem like they have an backstory behind them. But since its still so early those have yet to be explored.
The Novel has two characters that originate from other works. There is a hero named One-Pun (=One Punch man) and the MCs instructor at the hero organization is basically Hisoka (the crazy jester) from HunterxHunter. The other characters are original, even if some features might might make you think they are a copy of some other character you know.

All in all it is a fun and enjoyable read with lots of potential. <<less

Really strong light novel in my opinion, there were a few annoying quirks I hated at the beginning such as the way the MC refers to himself and how particular scenes took up a few chapters but once you start reading its very hard stop. The annoying features have actually become endearing and give this LN some character.

Strongest points for me would include the characters and the world building in each chapter. Characters in this LN are abundant and sometimes hard to keep track of but they dont feel copied... more>> and pasted, they have personality and some side characters show hints of having larger backstories to be revealed in later chapters.

On the world building you dont get a sense for the overall world but the particular arc you get a real sense of... creativity? And how the setting will affect the arc. (sorry for the long review 1st time doing this) <<less

I wanted to like this novel, but with the author slapping his readers, myself included, in the face with his nonsensical garbage practically every chapter I just can't bring myself to give this any more than 2 stars. I could forgive the plagiarism of characters, I could forgive the non-focused semblance of a plot, I could even sort of forgive the reliance on tropes pulled out of Anime that feel out of place and distasteful in a Chinese web novel, but some things go too far to be forgiven.

The story... more>> is relatively unique and it does pull you in when it really wants to. The problem is that the author is so full of himself (constantly butting in as the narrator, played by himself) that it/he disrupts the flow of the story and makes his chapters increasingly more difficult to swallow. If you add onto that the ridiculous amounts of filler and cliffhangers that the author consistently and purposefully puts in - seemingly to infuriate all his readers, it throws any good points the story might have had out the window.

The story itself never had a real direction to begin with. It wanders aimlessly and whimsically, much like the personality of the stuck-up author who finds it funny to offend his readers. An author who believes himself to be a very intelligent, clever human being when he is anything but.

In closing, observe this quote from the novel that perfectly encapsulates what it feels like to read Absolute Choice:

"Shi Xiaobai felt his scalp tingle from hearing this. Why was Speechless also so talkative? It was a matter that could have been explained in a sentence or two, but he insisted on making detours. He even mentioned a huge bunch of crap that he wasn't shy about despite all the bragging. Could the talkativeness trait of him and Mu Lengxi be hereditary?" <<less

If misunderstandings, super arrogant MCs and "filler" rustle your jimmies don't read this. I put quotations because a lot of people reviewing this novel use that word not knowing what filler really is. A short definition would be a stand alone story not a part of the plot. Up until this point nothing I have read really matches that description so I don't really understand why people are using the word. The story is about a 13 year old kid who travels to another world not unlike his own but... more>> the people their have powers. On top of this some mysterious force is constantly giving the boy choices he must make with rewards attached to them with varying difficulties. In the beginning The author parodies a lot of character from anime/manga this soon dies down after a while. The MCs goals up until this point has been to increase his strength. Nearly every chapter focuses on this there are no major deviations from that point. Especially nothing that could count as a stand alone story. Hell the author even changes the story a couple of time going so far as shortening one story arc because his readers were complaining. This is a fairly entertaining read I recommend it to just about anyone. <<less
