In the distant, but not too distant future, the profession of book author has disappeared. Every member of society is legally obligated to publish one book during their lifetime, but a second work is prohibited. Every book for sale in a bookstore is the one and only published work of someone.

This is the story of a boy who keeps his words close to his heart and a girl who is in love with the art of storytelling.

This story takes place in a world where the profession of a book author has disappeared and every member of society is obligated to publish one book in his lifetime, with a second work being prohibited. This is a really short story, so I'll make a short review as well. There are only two characters. The girl is named 'Saki Mitsumura' while the boy is only called 'Sakizaki'. Their character personalities aren't simply highschool anime cliches and are unexpectedly deep.

From the synopsis, it can be plainly seen that 'books' are... more>> going to be a major part of the plot. If an amateur writer reads this story, he might get better understanding of how to improve.

As for pros and cons of this story, they both boil down to one thing: Only necessary information is provided, there is zero filler in this story. This is the same as the legendary Ernest Hemmingway's writing style. Https://en. Wikipedia. Org/wiki/Iceberg_Theory

To finish this review, I really enjoyed this story and would love to read the author's longer works. <<less

A nice short story. The writing style feels minimalist - not much world building but sufficient details provided to keep the narrative going. I liked how it captured the emotions and thoughts behind the character's actions. Other works by this author include the Unnamed Memory Series. My thanks to the author for permitting the translation and to the translator for translating the story.

Story: 4.5

Reviewing this in hopes that more reader will read this. Beautiful story, mysterious, and fulfilling. A part of me have thoughts that if it is made in to a proper length of an average one volume of a light novel it would be perfect but if made into a longer series, publishing companies will milk this title and ruins this.

Here to thank the translator and the author.
