Ye Xiao was a superior cultivator in his previous life. The three factions of the realm kill millions of people every time they attempt to seize cultivation resources. Wealthy towns turn to wastelands in just a single night. They cover up their crime with an assertion that the towns were suffering from pestilence and disasters.

They forcibly hold all the resources for cultivation, monopolize all valuable practice materials, and keep outsiders from cultivating so that only their three factions could cultivate in the realm. Ye Xiao declared war against the three factions in retaliation for their actions. He fought alone and ended up dying in vain. However, he is reborn into the mortal body of a 16-year-old boy. He will use the powers he cultivated in his last life and slaughter his way back into the Realm. The story begins!

There is no way a normal person can like this shit, plot armor, MC dumb af, same kinda plot as with ttnh, status between women, I already feel disgusted by harem but I can bare it but imagine giving status between them like maid, concubine and so on, and they are actually acting inferior or superior to one another, tf is this wannabe s*avery? I have tried giving it chances but my god is as unbearable as the other novel legend of ling tian, they both are so similarly s*upid... more>> and disgusting, same bs <<less

One of the few cultivation novels that I enjoyed. While it is not without the usual cliches, overall it was an enjoyable read without elements that cause me to drop most cultivation novels midway. In fact I like this one over most of author's other works including TTNH (which I had dropped midway). The one real problem being that translations stopped for a long time and resumed only recently. Perhaps I will re-read from the start.

Let me first address the "sexism" charge by some of the reviewers. Frankly I find... more>> the charge quite nonsensical as well as steeped in hypocrisy. To begin with, the presence of harem is far more sexist than stuff like "I have a man to rely on" etc. So if you are offended by "sexism" in Chinese cultivation novels then skip all with the harem tag. Secondly this is one of the few novels where all the three females in the harem have strong characters and distinct personalities with roles throughout, well developed and ensuring romance, and not as decorative pieces thrown away from the story once the hook up with the MC is complete like is the case in most harem novels.

Besides I find it rather amusing that reviewers find such sexism wildly offensive but enjoy massacres, gore, "ruthlessness" and all. The less said about this weirdness the better.

Anyway despite some quirks, I quite enjoyed overall characters, world development, depth given to many of the events and characters among others. For instance the temporary estrangement from his parents after his transmigration is exposed was a touch of realism. Both the comic and emotional touches have been quite well done.

The revenge part would have been usual uneventful stuff save for a twist that again shows higher level of maturity and breath of fresh air over the disgusting "I will destroy everyone and everything that offends me or can in the future" or the seriously deranged "I will destroy the heavens if it stands against me" troupe.

There is quite a bit of plot armor at the start especially when MC stands against hopelessly strong enemies but still somehow survives and even "befriends" the biggest "rival". That whole plot is broken to be honest, so it's best to just enjoy with the flow and avoid thinking too much about the plot holes therein.

Most characters are not one dimensional, revenge is not one dimensional, many of the enemies are not one dimensional. That is one of the unique aspects besides the overall writing. And it lacks elements that I seriously detest like massacres for flimsiest reasons, so-called "ruthlessness", erasing difference between right and strong or demons and normal folk, and thereby creating worlds that will in reality crumble under their own weight in decades if not less. <<less

It's overall not a bad novel, but I have several complains about it.

The first and most annoying one is that the author must be a real piece of sh*t IRL. In Otherwordly monarch he wrote some severe racist stuff. Here, oh boy, if you're a woman you might want to spare yourself from reading this novel, I'm pretty tolerant in term of sexism in xianxia, in most novel it would be implicit sexism, but here even the strongest female characters keeps saying sh*t like "I'm strong, but I'm just a... more>> woman" or "What is a life without a man for a woman" or "being a wife is more important than everything", I saw stuff like that in TTNH but it wasn't as bad as this. The author keep writing strong female character, only to humiliate them later on, he have a real hate boner for them.

The second point, I completely hate the main antagonist. People says that you will respect him, perhaps even cheer him, I disagree, to me it's a c*ckroach like character that the author keep sucking off, making him look so clever by making guess that are accurate but coming from f*cking nowhere. And then have the MC being all like "OMG, he is so cool, clever, handsome and all that! He is my best ennemy!", that sh*t is so f*cking cringy.

The third point, this novel is waaaaaay too similar to TTNH (while not being as good), a bit like how all "I eat tomatoes" 's novel are similar. The settings, characters, universe is different, but there is a LOT of similar plot devices, ain't going to list them.

The fourth point, so many fillers. You would get entire chapters about stuff that doesn't matter one bit, I can see that as an attempt to deepen the plot, but that's just that, an attempt. I skipped so many chapters and didn't felt lossed one bit. The chapters are also in general pretty short, all in all it's alright to read if you're binge reading it, but I know that once I'm caught up with the release, I won't bother reading it until it's finished translated, there is just isn't enough meat per chapters and I don't want to deal with frustratring situation that keep going for dozens of chapters.

Despite all that, it still is a decent novel overall but I wouldn't be surprised if people dropped this novel for the reasons I stated above. I'm at chapter 1379, the sexism just peaked there, I was pretty disgusted by it, I don't know if i'll keep reading.

Edit: I dropped at ch 1451, I just can't deal with this sexism anymore, that's coming from someone who spits on SJW. I also don't see how it's possible that the novel is getting wrapped up in about 500 chapters, the ending will most likely be s*upidly rushed. <<less

Bangladeshi Fan of Wuxia, Xinxia novels:

Altho my account is one year old, I never wrote any review. I'm writing this review because this one should be around 4.7-4.8 rating. This novel is one of the best webnovels I have ever read. I expect the translation would be faster than now because the chapters are really shorter as compared to other novels.

You guys write so many bad reviews and give 1*, I almost got decieved. I used to choose which novel to read based on this sites ratings but later realized... more>> you guys just want to criticize not appreciate the hard work. Now I don't care about the reviews anymore <<less

The beginning of this novel is somewhat good but what destroy this novel is the late half.

In his first ascension he go back to his previous world and gain reach peak level of that world by using a divine treasure. From there on all the cultivation of everyone in this novel will become meaningless. In the next ascension it even more s*upid he will do nothing and jump a bunch on level just walking around, same for the people following him.

If you want to leave this novel with a good... more>> impression, stop reading after the second world war before his next ascension. Don't bother reading anything about the third world because nothing get finished there.

I think the author got tired of writing this novel in the last hundred chapter and just wanted to write some kind of ending but it just give a bitter taste to this novel potential. <<less

This is just a golden series.... It is on similar lines as otherworldly Evil Monarch, as in we have someone who got reincarnated. His past self was powerful and all, and while reincarnating, he managed to keep a pretty good item to himself. This has got harem, so beware haters!! Also... COMEDY. simply insane com edy. And now that it is in the qidian site, the release rate might also improve considerably. A total must read. And... There is actually some very good unique elements in this story unlike others.... more>> But I won't give away any spoilers. This is just a must read. And I feel that 265 chapters into the story is a good point to review... Also, if you are confused by the novel I gave as an example. give it a try as well. It is equally good. <<less

A fun enjoyable novel. It takes a while for the novel to really pick up, but after chapter 70, it gets really funny, with lots of awesome and story driving moments that keep you quite interested.

The writing is also very well done, with great dialogue between characters and a lot of characters in the story are multi-dimensional in growth and face.

As of Ch. 32.

It bears a strong resemblance to the author's other works. In fact, one humorous post-cultivation scene from Otherworldly Evil Monarch (ch8) is duplicated here (also ch8).

Realms in the Firmament tells the story of Ye Xiao, an awe-inspiring and deity-like cultivator who smiled fearlessly as he was driven to his death by hypocritical and selfish clans. He awoke to find himself transmigrated into the body of a person also named Ye Xiao who had died of poisoning. Puzzled at his fate but not wasting this second life,... more>> he decides to cultivate his strength and prepare for the day he returns to his original realm and complete his vengeance...

I advise readers to begin reading Premium Red Tea's translated chapters as they were done with more care and tact before continuing with XianXiaWorld's version. XXW's later translations improved greatly as they recruited more editors, but the early chapters remained unpolished as can be seen from the poem in Chapter 3 which can give readers a headache.

The MC is almost a clone of Jun Xie of Otherworldly Evil Monarch with similar fearlessness, confidence, behavior, language and mannerisms.

A reader of the author's other works as well as similar titles like Sovereign of the Three Realms would find more of the same here: fast-pacing, 'loud' dialogue, vivid characters and poor fools who have no idea they are crossing someone with sharp knives behind his back. <<less

I am writing this review just because I find the previous review by Pekkie to be highly exaggerated. While I do agree that the translations by Premium Red Tea were better, I did not find any problems with the translations of xianxiaworld (till chapter 15). Maybe they might have updated the earlier chapters after the previous review was posted.

Anyway, there is no mindless fighting till now and the story seems focused around quirky characters and is found to be engaging. As of now, I will keep it in my... more>> reading list. <<less

I like this author. So far I've readthis, OEM and ttnh.

This one was the worst of his that I've read so far.

The harem: it was very limited. The dialogue and interactions between the MC and the harem just wasn't really there. Only one of the women had any character development. The others were meh. It's weird because this author normally excels when it comes to character development and dialogue with his harems.

World building was the author's worst. It had some, but it wasn't as... more>> dynamic as it was in ttnh.

This MC was pretty good. He had all the traits of an MC of this author.

The villains were weird. None of them were so heinous that the reader will froth at the mouth, begging for the MC to kill them.

All in all.. While it was this author's worst novel, it was still better than a lot of other wuxia from some other authors.

It's worth a read. <<less

Use 10 seconds to read every chapter. Thats a perfect summary of the novel. Most of the words in a chapter are pointless and frankly a bit annoying. I'm pretty sure is only the useful information was left behind 300 chapters will become 30 chapters. Honestly its not worth the read unless you are really really bored and have nothing else to do during the holidays.

Like most novels that are currently being translated, it suffers from being a "telling" instead of a "showing" which is still acceptable, in my opinion. What I hate though is the long-winded explanations and fillers. Most of the things explained are easy to understand in two to three sentences but the author expounds by adding three or more paragraphs to it. They are not that important and I feel it was added just for word count. I actually had to skip succeeding chapters since most were fillers.

Reviewed after reading c79 translations and c460s MTL. Rated 5.

In regard of its initial premises, Realms In The Firmament is not extraordinary. However, the development is. Rather than taking the development through endless series of power-ups and fights, the Author chose to take a more "political" approach with enemies that are both smart and strong and more than just stepping stones for the MC. He also smartly arranged the story in a way that left hooks at almost every turn, so readers will find it hard to put the novel... more>> down after started reading it.

At some points, there are things that seemed to come out of blue, brushed off too easily, or ended too abruptly; however, all that don't intrude upon readers' enjoyment, so that's all right. Furthermore, there are balanced portion of humor, actions and political mumblings, also arrogance, brawl, and quietly dangerous mind games, which mean most of the plot are not rinse-repeat of monotone pattern. <<less

I'm enjoying this so far, coming from the author of OEM and TTNH, the author didn't dissapoint. I like the fact that this seems to be more lighthearted and comedic than the previous 2 books and doesn't involve itself too much on politics yet. I like smart protagonist and their plots, buy I don't want it to be the focus of the book, which is why I like the promise of this book more. Not saying it is superior since we're only 50 plus chapters, I'm just saying it has... more>> an enjoyable plot, reminiscent of good old xuanhuan. This is only my rating at the moment, depending on whether it lives up to its potential, the score could drop. Also the MC reaction to woman is funny, as he's not only dense but super pure. <<less
