Long Live Summons!

The Soaring Dragon Continent is a world of summons, you can only become strong if you become a summoner! Yue Yang, an average high school boy, was suddenly kicked into this world. When he woke up, he was greeted with a lot of worried faces and found out that he had assumed another person’s identity. Turns out he’s the good-for-nothing third son of the Yue Family, who had just recently drowned himself because of a failed engagement. Unlike the third son of the Yue Family who was useless in summoning, Yue Yang succeeded in making a contract with a summoning grimoire on his first try, even when the other guy failed for the past fifteen years. Others would have a headache making contracts with beasts afterwards, but countless beasts tried to gain favour with Yue Yang instead, acting like a good kid before him.

Yue Yang the brat, however, didn’t feel grateful at all: “Scram, Mythical Beasts! Do you think you are cool like that? Go away from me now, I only like beautiful summons!”

Even when royal families approached him for his talents, the shameless brat replied, “I’m not interested in government stuff, I’m only interested in beauties!”

I don't know why people flaming on Yue Yang (MC), he's a pe*vert alright, but his antics is quite funny. He is a cunning man. To his enemies he is to be feared but he is gentle towards his family. Those who rate this as 2star/1star but only read 100 chapters.. pffttt... Judging the book by its cover eh?

Overall this WN is good. I'll answer the critism of others.
Spoiler
  1. The MC is a huge perv.. Yeah he is, but to the girls he like, he created a connection between them, there are many beauties in the novel but not all of them were hit on by the MC
  2. The girls all fell in love with the super perv MC.. well they experienced life and death situation with him, he accelerated their cultivation and guide them properly.
  3. MC has too many enemies aiming at his throat.. of course duh.. you're at the world where strong eats weak.. imagine being strong then hearing news about a sprouting genius.. of course you'll dispose him before he become stronger than you.. and most of his enemies came from his parents (the real Yue Yang's)

It started quite well, but it turned quite bad after few hundreds chapters. For the following reason (from my pov)

The first reason: The slow pace is a killer for me, not that I mind fillers, however the way fillers are done will drive you nuts. As they are written withing the plot advancement, too many empty paragraphs in chapters.

The second reason is: The MC has way too many enemies, scheming against him all the time, while the MC's allies are useless.

The third reason and the most important one: I... more>> feel like this novel is a nest for ret*rded people. The author doesn't care about the character development nor about the plot, he will just bend the event in a way that will require more chapters (plot hole), regardless if the decision are s*upid or not, which affect the overall IQ and EQ of the characters. <<less

This series cracks me up. It's a very interesting story about being stuck in another world, with a unique power-up system not seen in most novels. The TL does a good job of making the jokes count and the fights interesting.

Hmm... Well, what to say... Yeah, this is a great novel in some ways, horrible in others. The main attracting force here is no doubt the comedy, the author has a good way with it, I am really fond of it. Especially the first 100 or so chapters were golden, I laughed non-stop. Then there would be a few arcs where he kept meeting ridiculous enemies that he couldn't hope to defeat and would get slapped half to death, with no comedy whatsoever that this series was famous for (to... more>> be unable to take itself seriously even in a serious situation as before). There was surely a bit of comedic relief, in the fights there as well, but it was way too toned down. Especially when you get to 200-300+ chapters and innates' get truly involved will it get a bit overboard, with people being so ridiculously strong that the MC can't do sh*t and just hope to not die.

Well, all in all, this author is horrible at writing serious and good action scenes. When those kind of scenes are written, the author tends to love repeating the same thing again and again with different words, if there wasn't so much bullsh*t and endless repeating (I swear, in some chapters this author can spend the entire chapter explaining one small thing, again and again, like "This thing is because of this, yeah, it's because of this, in case you didn't know still, it's because of this, what? you still don't understand? it's because of this, yeah, really, this happened because of this, seems you're mentally ret*rded and still doesn't understand that it's because of this, what if you still don't understand it's because of this, well, don't worry, I will keep on explaining this to you until I reach my daily word count). If we skip all repetitions and stating things people already knew, 411 chapters would surely turn into less than 300 chapters that are way more interesting to read.

I recommend to stay for the comedy and ignore the all-too-serious bullsh*t that is badly written. I don't doubt for a second that it's worth 4 stars, the 1 star reduction is because of the badly written action and repetitive text that can be glossed over instead of reading it seriously. Easily one of the funniest novels I've read, laughed out loud many times :D Would usually at the very least smile once a chapter, unless it was one of the chapters where the author tried to make this novel into something it's not and it was all too serious and dull. Don't read this for action, read it for the amusing dialogues. Long live yue yang and hui tai lang (seriously, hui tai lang is the boss, he's seriously awesome, I wish I had a wolf like him, I just wish that the author would let him accompany yue yang a bit more later on instead of guarding his underlings or training them). <<less

Highly recommended from me! MC is badass, cunning, shameless, and an honest liar XD. Well he loves his family. There are times that the jokes are corny, but we are reading this novel because this has a good plot. There is a good development to side characters, heroines, and beasts. He sometimes uses his knowledge in the past life.
Spoiler

He is an abnormal genius.
There are some OP enemies too that makes the MC helpless. There are some plot armors too. Plot armors are necessary so that MC will not die. Plot armors only appears when he is surrounded by enemies on higher levels and super strong. Like when he was surrounded by the 3 great demon kings, 1 demon king, 2 lich kings, demon commanders and generals, while carrying the phoenix beauty who was injured and exhausted on his back. He had no way out ! So of course the plot armor comes.

There was also that time when he was facing the great leaders from the heaven realm. If not for the plot armor, he might have died.

There are some events with up and downs.

The Tong Tian Tower gives a new environment for the MC so that the readers won't get bored. The novel progresses stably. There are some mysteries that is still not solved.

Read this novel and continue reading. This novel is really good !

Story gets more and more boring. There are too many battle descriptions, and under-estimating the MC moments. I feel like the author keeps using the same ideas on repeat.

For the most part, it really feels like an internet troll getting isekai'd into a cultivation world and treating it like a game. Despite being OP, he reasonably is not immediately used to using his power due to his identity as a modern Chinese student. His lack of knowledge especially keeps him from decisively winning all of his fights, but he learns and doesn't fail to the same thing twice, and even goes to increase his general knowledge after a while.

It's like if a guy started a MMO at level... more>> 80. He won't be able to handle level 80 opponents (I mean, it's not like the account came with full equipment or with skills/abilities attached), and even lower level opponents might be able to escape or defeat him because he doesn't even know all their moves or equipment yet, but everyone thinks he's level 1 because he's just a fresh newbie so he can also trick and defeat them by surprising them. And the max level is definitely higher than 80.

It's also nice how, weirdly, the love interest harem members not only don't immediately fall in love with him, they also don't immediately accept the harem. They also have their own things going on most of the time, so they don't necessarily follow him unless what he's doing seems interesting. The major villains as well take the protagonist into account for their plans; they know he'll do something incredible and screw them up if he has the chance, so they try to keep him busy or run multiple operations in different places so at least one will succeed. In some cases, they even count on him interfering in order to achieve what they want.

There are bad things, of course, like how he keeps forgetting a certain summoned beast after getting it at critical points, and like how h**ny the guy is all the time (after all, he's an internet troll). It seems like the author forgets things along the way every now and then, but it would be a 4 star up to a certain turning point.

After that point, the spirit of Hulk descends upon the protagonist. And everything I liked about the story disappears for a good ~50 chapters. Especially the battles have become disappointingly "genius crushes people at a higher level than him with ease", but none of the other things I mentioned above as things I liked have been the same either. It's not particularly worse than a typical xuanhuan during this period, but it lacks the usual charm.

It's a comparatively short period and the author brings back a lot of the good points, but the charm is gone with him gaining several new trump cards and even more powerful allies. He's basically unkillable, and if he uses all of his trump cards he can defeat any enemy he meets. Of course, he will continue to conveniently forget trump cards or leave them lying around somewhere else, just so he doesn't always win. <<less

It is one of the shittest novels out there.

There are a lot and I mean a lot of bullsh*t that doesn't make any sense....

I am gonna point out the one that made me give up on this novel.
Spoiler

So, once you cross a certain realm, you need to sign a treaty which indicates that you can't retaliate against others who are weaker than you. Now, here comes an enemy who is weaker than the MC and he kidnaps his mother and sister. and beacuse the MC broke through the realm, it creates a huge mess...

Now you tell me, does such a treaty even makes sense ? If it were so that untill and unless you are provoked, you can't retaliate then I can accept the treaty. But here, no matter what, you can't retaliate even if the enemy r*ped your mother cos of the f*cking treaty?? does it even makes sense??

ret*rded dumb author.

It feels more like a badly written fan-fiction. Nothing makes sense.... MC is supposed to be at level 9 but he cant even defeat someone at level 6... then out of nowhere he can defeat someone at level 9.2.

Girls suddenly jump out of nowhere to save MC. He gets all the good stuff as well as all the girls.

all MC has to do to level up his summoning skills is summon his book before the fight start... but the MC is like, I forgot..... so he has the power to defeat a level 9 person with his martial arts but his summoning level is still level 2. All he has to do is just take the f*cking book out before the fight starts and he will level up. but no... he won't... for no reason at all.... ret*rded mc/author.

any time MC comes across a super-powerfull enemy, the enemy is like you have potential, I will wait for you to grow stronger.... bla bla bla and leaves. Where as the same enemy's back story says that he killed a human cos he was scared of his potential and he even absorbed the power and lifeforce to 1000's of people who belonged to his team just so he could escape from the prison.... (i am talking about the prison hall arc around chapter 350)

mc's foster father and his pregnant wife gets kidnapped and MC goes around without giving a f*ck... they have already been kidnapped for like months....

tower level 6 was supposed to be a place where only inate level (level 9 and above) warriors could go and level up but when MC goes there, there are level 5-8 people who are going around as it they owe the place.

level 9 is supposed to be a barrier at level 9, all below are shit.

[collapse]

It really feels like a wish-fulfillment shitty fan-art. Everything goes mc's way without even trying. It feels so f*cking forced.... at times he tries to hide his powers for no f*cking reason only to wait till the worst case scenario comes true then reveal his power....

Also, girls are heavily looked down upon, this is totally a male dominated society.... but lo and behold most of the powerful people in the continent are women who are 1000 year old virg*ns throwing themselves are the MC. Makes you wonder how it is a male dominated society. <<less

Don't bother reading this unless you're looking for an extremely overpowered MC who gets tricked by almost every single person he meets, is extremely dumb (to the point of making you skip chapters) and has 0 personality.

Also expect nonstop fighting, "experts" hiding behind "experts", a group of incompetent "friends" being annoying 24/7 around the MC like fruit flies and random female characters using him like tool, what a waste of time.

This story is fairly average, maybe even a little above. The world building is fine but the MC is a gary stu so many of the rules of the world don't apply to him for reasons that are either not explained or esoterically explained. However I don't really think that's a large flaw in the story because this story is really just a power fantasy to begin with and the author has a very kinetic writing style, most of the times, that keeps you excited and engaged so it's one... more>> of the better power fantasies out there, so, if you're into that genre, then this is a story you'll probably like.

However, I've given it a low rating because, while the writing is good, for a power fantasy, and the world building is acceptable, the character is annoying, or rather, hateful. I say character because in stories like this, only the main character really matters, everyone else kind of blends together at some point, only interesting when first introduced or before the cast gets large, and are mostly there to figuratively, and sometimes literally, stroke the main character's c*ck and talk about how awesome he is. And because the side characters are weak, this story really hinges (assuming you like this genre) on whether you like the main character or not. If you like him, then it's all good, but if you hate him, as I did, and want something bad to happen to him, or someone to reject him, or for him not to get the ultimate treasure for once, or someone to just curb-stomp the sh*t out of him while laughing manically, you're just going to get frustrated because the world bends over to give the MC whatever he wants.

Before I wrap this up I just want to address one more point that I think is worthy of praise. This writer is fairly competent, this story is not this way by accident and the writer clearly knew exactly what he was doing, because of that you can figure out if the story is for you pretty easily. The first 100 or so chapters are a perfect sample for the story, if you like it and want to see more of the same then this is a good read for you. Now when I say more of the same, I mean the same. The specific settings and characters may change but I guarantee you that the beats of the story will just repeat over and over again, I'm confident in this, even though I dropped it somewhere between 100 and 200, not because the story is bad or incompetent, but rather because the writer is competent enough that I believe he understands his own formula and that he can make it work for his target audience. So if you don't like the first 100 chapters, you'll probably figure it out and drop it way before you get to 100, but if you kept going hoping for a change and made it to 100 and still didn't like it then don't keep reading because it's not gonna get better or change, this story simple isn't meant for you. Even if you do like the first 100 chapters, if you feel like it's not something that will be able to hold your interest if you viewed it multiple times then you should decide whether you want to give up on it or read it until it's lost its novelty and then drop it, no point stressing yourself out because it's not gonna change. <<less

In my opinion, although we have a lecherous MC this novel is really good. It manages to combine so many different genres in one and maybe not perfectly but definitely succeeds in pulling it off. I myself was skeptical at first, but I do not at the very least regret reading this novel. I strongly recommend this novel for anyone who wants to read something that is a little different from usual novels.

... kinda rough. I really wanted to like this; so I stuck with it for about 200 chapters, but ultimately came out disappointed.

pros:
-The setting was fairly unique in terms of the power/abilities.
-Humor is frequent and was initially (arguably) solid.
-Action scenes are ok.

cons:
-The author does not take full advantage of the potential of the setting. Instead allowing it to become stale over time.
-The harem doesn't feel like a harem. Not that there aren't enough girls per se; just that they all slowly devolve into one... more>> personality: "All hail the MC". With little deviation in speech or attitude, it feels like one girl competing with herself... not a good harem.
-The comedy turns sour after a while; like a fruit that was good at first but gets over eaten and so abandoned, only to watch it rot over the course of a few days. The comedy was somewhat slapstick and le*d which was fine initially, but eventually grew tiresome as the author was incapable of adding any witty or dry humor to spice things up.
-MC is an a**hole. Yes there are plenty of as*hole MCs, but at least they are usually only a**holes to their enemies or are an endearing a**hole. MC is supposed? to be an endearing as*hole but just comes across as annoying after a while; especially because he never seems to learn or change.

****PERSONAL PET PEEVE
The wolf. I freaking love wolves. They are some of the most noble creatures on the planet. They are staunchly loyal once earned and return hate for hate and kindness with kindness. Furthermore they are intelligent, powerful creatures that have a better sense of social construction than most humans.

That said, the MC's wolf "pet" is shameless, pitiful, wretched, constantly abused (by the MC. Don't care about the reason. I'm sure their are better ways and the MC just uses the wolf's body adaptability as an excuse to beat on him when he is angry about something), and used as cheap slapstick comedy.

All of the above pisses me off to no end. That is personal, and purely subjective to the enjoyment of the story, but it does affect how I view the work to some extent which, when combined with the previously mentioned cons, results in my low scoring of the work at 2/5. <<less

This novel is kind of a guilty pleasure for me.

Technically the content is just slightly above average, with a decent but not perfect translation, and a lot of the usual ingredients of both japanese 'OP in an other world' and chinese 'martial arts give godly powers', with harem and a tinge of magic thrown in there for good measure.

And it's just as it sounds really, a main character that doesn't really put efforts but gets everything and is rarely even endagered, luck and plot armour everywhere, the whole 'tr*sh becomes... more>> genius overnight', there is even broken engagement near the very start to complete the tropes.

And yet, the main character is just different enough to make it entertaining to read.
At the start, he sounds just like all of those japanese heroes that want to hide their power and lust for breasts, but his main (and frankly only) trait of being completely shameless lets the story get away with far too much.

If you just want to read something entertaining that doesn't even try to pretend to have heroes or hide the 'coincidences' that pile up sky high, there are far worse choices, and this is being translated at a stable pace for a years and a half, so you can just put it aside a few months and go back if you want to read in bigger chunks. <<less

Everything is here, for selfish Summoning beasts with a strong harem can be found here. Interesting stuff with a little humor, good fights, interesting world and combat system. The hero has huge cheat abilities, is quite indecent, clever, devious, unprincipled and self-confident. Reid doesn't worry about his antics.

The world is built on system levels, which is unusual in itself.
The characters are quite diverse and interesting. No boring personalities or minor characters that quickly disappear or get bored. Female characters are strong from the beginning and diverse. Easy to read,... more>> especially for those who love a mix of martial arts and harem.

Very sad, but I have to edit my review !!! Like many works of the Novella here begins to deteriorate the quality of the plot from about 600 chapters. I started reading the story twice and still gave it up. This is sad, but the author has exceeded the bar with the viciousness of the hero, the number of villains who jumped out of the seals, and most importantly the plot becomes more boring as it continues. The hero does not know defeats and difficulties, is absolutely shameless (everything looks like the author's Shoji style of writing). If you compare for example with Dominating Sword Immortal, the story of Long Live Summons! (Personally for me) just sharply bored and becomes not interesting, although there is a harem in contrast to the work indicated above. Rating 3.3. <<less

I love this novel.

The MC is a really abnormal genius with all the cheats it has, and for the moment (c280), it hardly meets resistances. There is no mercy, because, apart from those close to him, he sees all others as NPC. The fights are fun and violent, as in many Xianxia. No drop-secondary characters, they always revolve around the MC.

As discussed below, it also has a small pokemon side, with the concept of catching creatures and evolve.

Romance side, the MC is a pe*vert, but it is treated humorously. He... more>> is fun and likes to tease girls, whatever their status. The girls all have a different character (proud violent princess, mysterious and intelligent beauty, happy and loves to laugh,...), and their relationship is not boring.

This is a real harem, and the girls around him accept this idea (in a world where polygamy is common). The MC also try to share his knowledge and power to his lovers/sisters, to make them strong enough to protect themselves and to help in the fighting (even if one of is "spécial process" benefits both parties).

There are obviously many faults, sometimes lack of explanation (innate,...), but roughly speaking, this does not change from some other Xianxia (ATG, TTNH, ToDaG,...).

(sorry for the spelling, google translation) <<less

It was good at first, but for me, it later falls of around chapter 200 because the MC is such a pe*vert and his actions are turning more and more ridiculous. I can describe this novel in one word "cancer". This novel is horrible, MC is peice of garbage lower than the third rate back street villain. I actually like anti hero and shameless protagonist but this is on whole another level. He is a pe*vert whose reason for living is chasing after girls (I know that doesn't looks like a bad thing but) he is always thinking about pushing them down even when they are in deadly situations MC is only thinking about pushing girls down. So far zero development... more>> in MC character :

    1. MC thinks that he should only think about himself and he doesn't help others unless he himself is benefited. But when some characters gave their life for MC just because he unintentionally fulfilled their wish or a character who helped MC when he was in a desperate situation even at hurting themselve in the process MC was like oh they are good people but that's it. These scenarios had 0 effect on him.
    1. He almost got himself and his family member got killed in a trial because of his recklessness even knowing that it will definitely be extremely dangerous, and after almost getting killed MC was again flirting like he doesn't even remember what happened.
He tries to hide his power for no reason at all specially at later chapeters. He will forget almost about every important thing except his pe*verted nature even when those things can save his life. Everything is forced to go in his way so that he can win.

Romance is.... Ummm I don't what to say about it, one chapter MC is acting like a lowest living being in front of heroins and next chapter there are multiple females that are in love with him (I was like when did this) happen).

After reading 200+ chapters I can confidently say that MC will not be good person because he is not even a proper human being. You shouldn't even give it a try, go read something else. <<less

I know he pe*vert but he keeps blabering le*d things, the whole story feels like only filled with him lying or teasing until that point repeats itself again and again, just please dont repeat it.

At first I just skipping what he said, I didnt even read it anymore, but it keeps annoying me! Wheres the cunning MC? Its just a pe*vert given power, can you keep your dignity sir. His... more>> pe*vertedness is not a cover but his true self, who shows his true nature like this, he knows to hide his strength but can't keep his bottom?

For a godsake stop blabering le*d things! Y know the part of pe*vert thing in story feels like a hidden desire of someone who wants to go to another world

The MC power ups through luck and ladies. He hooks up with girls without much of a progress. And author tries to put justice in MC side however he can.

MC kills without much of a reason and says some bs afterwards. He thinks everyone is npc except the few who are around him. His wives accept newcomers without any reaction and he has big d called knight and spear.
