A goddess summons two people to help restore her world. The personalities of the two that were summoned are opposite of each other (obviously good and bad). The Goddess gave them the same cheat, and summoned a s*ave for each of them. I repeat, the Goddess herself summoned a s*ave for them. The name of the race is Eternal s*ave, the Godesss mentioned they live and die as s*aves. WTF? Why would anyone want to restore this crappy world? With a crappy Godesss? The evil God was the one to... more>> destroy most of the world, maybe he was the good guy and the Godesss the evil one. <<less

It's... super generic. MC summoned, get s*ave. Get OP cheat.

Yada yada. Normal, whatever. None of the actions are described very well at all. It feels a lot like a summary, bullet points turned into sentences by the barest of margins.

While it is not exactly a paragon of its kind, up to this point, this novel has been quite different from your everyday 'transported person' novel. Here come the reasons:

Spoiler

- The MC was sent to a (almost) completely destroyed world, so (for a while at last) there will be no cities and its related clichés, like the gate one or the adventurer guild one.

- MC don't have a clear objective. While this vague objective thing tends to steer to the wrong direction in other novels, considering this novel's world's state, it's good to have a freedom to explore the different situations and outcomes this setting may proportionate.

- The (not-confirmed) villain will be a dick. Sincerely, I don't want a charismatic villain (i want a charismatic MC), I just don't want him to be an ultra-dumb arrogant brat.

- This setting and character power are something I haven't see together at all. While I have seen some novels where the MC have a creation/crafting power, I haven't seen one of these on an (almost) apocalyptic setting.

[collapse]

In conclusion, I have a great expectancy over this novel.

Up to ch 7:

Pros:
- Starts differently from other novels in this genre.
- Have potential to steer away from clichés and create a unique story.
- While with a cheat-like ability, I can't really say that the MC will become too OP (it appears he won't be able to make a castle from thin air or slay a dragon with a stare).
- while it have been relaying on the master-s*ave thing, isn't like the MC and the heroine are trying to get into each other's pants (not so openly at last).

Cons:
- I can sense some 2D characters over the horizon. (May depends on the size of the Harem)
- It will walk the path of the slice-of-life. (It could be awesome... but probably... it won't, I fear we'll have to endure chapters and more chapters of fluffiness.)

Depends:
- up to this point, most (if not all) of the chapters are small, and it's beginning to show some slice-of-life characteristics (slow pace and the fluffiness).
- the protagonist still learning about his powers (I think this one will need about to 15 chapters to really start to get interesting). <<less

So I completely read the japanese version of this and I have to say this manga had a good start but quickly went downhill after that. My review is essentially a big spoiler so be warned.

Spoiler

The worldbuilding aspect was pretty good at the beginning. He started small with just getting into the world building stuff and converting monkeys back to humans. He becomes mayor then a feudal lord and finally a king of a country. This is wher most of the problems started. The worldbuilding aspect is shit. No country was further elaborated on. We get a brief mentioning of a country of "Regrets" (essentially eternal s*aves who never found a master), but we dont know anything about them except they want to trade with his country and they seem to have a queen. For all we know these are the only 2 countries in this world because worldbuilding never went farther than that. Furthermore the story is extremely limited to the few towns he has and even then they also get no further build-up after they are built up (heh). Also you notice in later chapters especially after he gets established as a king that the author just tries to wing it somehow and introduces random concepts and problems which should have either come up way earlier in the development of cities or are just plain out weird. I mean there were like 4 chapters were he tried to find a reliable alcohol source for his cities. Things also just seem to pop up in this world like animals just randomly appearing in the forest or extra towns, specific monsterdrops or convenient people.

A lot of concepts and ideas just seems to get started out of nowhere and then disappear again into it. For example in one chapter an eternal s*ave asks to be his 7th s*ave but gets interrupted by evil Seiya. That s*ave (Holkina I think) was not mentioned again until the very last volume which seems like an addendum disconnected from the main story. The worst example is definitely Lira a Lamia who he helped for one whole volume. This was totally plot irrevelant and I think she gets a single mention after that in the later chapters (I dont conside the last volume part of the main story as its feels like a mishmash of some quick thoughts fromthe author where he tried to stuff in the things which he had forgotten). The story around Lira was also pretty meh. Essentially he builds a safe dungeon for her so she can safely raise a new lamia colony there which also means she needs his help to reproduce. This seems fun and all until you reach the part where the author explains that lamias dont have snu-snu and only need to touch a man and absorb his life energy to reproduce. Also they will eat the man, when they dont have enough energy. Our lamia of course says that she would never eat him, which makes this piece of plot totally irrelevant. Also its not like the author avoids the mentioning of s*x. In chapter 101 he does it with 50 women at the same time and also at a later point with all of his s*aves. He even gets a magical card which is charged by him having s*x. So to come back to the lamia story. It feels weirdly disconnected from the main plot.

Also it seems that the author wanted to finish the story at chapter 128. Atleast all the setup was there. "With the power of his people, friends and s*aves he kills Seiya who was possessed by the evil god and everyone lives happy after." But somehow the author decided to just painstakingly drag it out with multiple seiya resurrections and dumb subplots. It seems like he wanted to go for the slice-of-life route while also trying to maintain a big epic story about rescuing the world but by not focusing on either he then failed at both. This novel is also one of the worst cases of disregard for Chekhov Gun imaginable. For anyone who does not know. Chekhov, master of the short story, once gave this advice: If it's not essential, don't include it in the story and damn when half of your "plot" devices have no plot behind them then you really should rethink your reason for actually including them. I didnt even mention character development yet. Most of it is for ass. Only Akito, Lisha, Yuria and Lisa (seiyas s*ave) get fleshed out in any way. Hell I couldnt even differentiate between mira (2nd s*ave) Lilia (4th) and Svetlana (6th and yes her name sounds like a cheap hooker). Tons of characters get introduced and could be described with a single 5 word sentence. Worst of all are the kids which have mother-personalities-light. This novel just makes me mad because it had lots of potential but you really notice how the author is just bad. I give it a two star instead of one because I enjoyed the beginning and premise

The 'now' baren land saved by our hero, the demonlord. The world of 'charging magic with a collar~' is saved from its own damnation of an existence!

That is until the Evil Goddess summons two damned souls with twisted minds and grants them both an 'Eternal s*ave'

oh my, I shiver at the thought of it, the evil goddess really summoned a couple of sick minded individuals that's for sure!

And so our protagonist sets off into this world like the sicko he is, imprisoning people from their sanctuary of eternal ape like solitude into this messed up world where they can eat dirt or starve, and for entertainment they can watch the protagonist show off his MASSIVE v**ginity, head patting lollies left right and centre, excuse my language.

And that's pretty much it, just another one of those Japanese novels which are made up as they go along, just like the name of the novel.

So prepare your brain for chemotherapy and hop right in <3 ♡ ❤???????????????? <<less

You like world building? Harem? Calm and cool male protagonist? Then try read Release That Witch!

LMAO, joke aside this wn is awful, from the first chapter it already made no sense, I totally agree with MondoX, I think they should just abandon this world or change the goddess, that bit*h reek of BS, seriously it would be cool if the author go all out and make a twist, that the goddess of the world is evil and Evil God is actually good god that want to destroy the real evil... more>> god, give freedom to all race and bla bla bla MC help evil god and everyone live happily ever after, but NO! Nothing that interesting actually happened and if you think the early chapter isnt that bad and hoping it get better you are in for a ride, ride to hell, things get worse as the author clearly forgot many things and is forced to cram most of em in late chapter, that is only one of the many other s*upid thing that happened, this novel just makes me mad because it had lots of potential but the author suck, inexperienced, immature, lack consistency and just bad. I give it a two star cuz I like the premise, and the beginning is not the worst thing ive read. <<less

If you like your kingdom building novels to be written by an author that doesn't understand even the basics of politics, governance or economics then you'll love this. Not to mention the interactions between people that make it seem like the author is a shut in.

and what the heck is with the main antagonist? He pops up randomly for no reason, acts s*upid to the point that the you wonder if he's ment to have some kind of brain injury, then violently abuses his s*ave just so the reader can... more>> understand he's a bad guy >.> <<less

Weak world building and forgettable secondary characters (serious lack of description of the world, the surroundings, and the people. And of course, a bastard and the pretty and loyal s*ave needed to show how virtuous our MC is). It's bland, weak. The only thing this story has is the way to replenish mana.

Right, this requires a certain mindset to enjoy.

s*avery exists as a species. Think of them as a subservient robot species, designed to find joy in ownership, following orders, and discovering their one master. Even painful orders are considered awesome, and this species generates magic when they fulfill requests.

If this species fails to find their master, they fall into depression and transform outwardly as a sign of failure. It is rare for one master to bind more than one s*ave, so population growth reduces the happiness of the majority.

That said, this... more>> is a slice of life following the conflict between two powerful point of views: Should this species be used as tools or treasured as gifts?

The MC was so enamored with his first companion that he decided to dedicate his life to ensuring that she and those he cared for would smile, to find happiness even if what made them happy was unusual to him personally.

The other man wished to please only himself, and considers all others tools or objects to be used, blamed for problems, and easily discarded.

The conflict comes from the significant magic boost from not abusing his s*ave, and the bad guy refusing to believe that such weak emotions and pathetic 'nice' actions could actually generate so much power.

In other words, one dude is friendship is magic, and believes in multiple chances when possible (Unless you touch his reverse scale, his precious people)... The other, might makes right, I deserve all good and everything bad is someone else's fault.

A good read, I suggest giving it a shot. Don't expect harsh challenges, it IS a laid back story, but it is fun to read. <<less

I stuck with this for way too long. The basic foundation of this story is actually interesting what with two people being summoned at the same time and given the same task, that being restoring a world that is dying because of a major environmentally devastating conflict. The mechanism with which the world would be restored is magic and can only be uniquely gathered through a race of "eternal s*aves" who can then only transfer that magic to a specific type of technology that the two summoned were given access... more>> to and can use because of the Goddess that summoned them.

The problems start with the author himself. After getting through 93 chapters I can very safely deduce that he is simply not smart enough to handle building the kind of world he has set the foundations for to any acceptable standard. The world building is bare boned at best. The crafting is nonsensical and could have been plucked straight out of any RPG. Just throw raw materials in this magic circle and bam you just made a house. Forget trying to help people become self-dependent and rediscovering how to create tools and farm agriculture, we'll just make millions of pounds of disgusting dirt food that people can subsist on and use magic to create any other tools they might need.

Using magic to help revive an environmentally devastated planet that has been laid barren by that conflict? BORING. Lets make paper money out of dragon's blood, and make ourselves a King baby. Oh and we need cakes, lots of mass produced cakes.

The protagonist himself is bland and boring, he has no unique qualities outside his nonexistent libido, his irrational decision making/immediate forgiveness of crimes and light switch temper that only activates when cartoonish villains want to r*pe his s*aves, then he'll cut their heads off with no warning.

The greatest amount of work and the only good thing this author could do in this is creating the eternal s*ave characters. They don't grow themselves but they are cute, enjoyable and are entirely the reason I read so much of it. That and I thought it would be interesting if the author would take at least some time to explore how the relationship between the s*aves, their magic and the immediate transference of it to the technology came about. None of that is explored though. Its left utterly barren and I'm left with the impression that the author is completely unaware of what he is leaving unexplored.

All other characters are cardboard facsimiles of tropes.
Spoiler

a group of female knights wants to bear the MC's children but he doesn't even have a modicum of personality to properly react to such a request, just saying he'll do it later.

[collapse]
The other person that was summoned by the Goddess is an awfully written trope creation constantly physically/mentally/verbally abusing the s*ave he was given, an absolutely contemptuous person by all accounts and the MC can't even work up enough care to feel bad about it. On top of that he immediately forgives this guy for attacking the town he created, and other incidents that directly hurt the MC and the people he's taking care of. Just letting him off scot-free without saying a word.

To describe the world building I think it would be more appropriate to draw a comparison to tasking an 8 year old to write how he would restore a civilization that had fallen to an extremely basic barter economy with barely enough food to survive. Dodgerzz is completely correct his his review.

Lastly, just the overall writing is terrible. By The Way™ Plue is completely accurate in describing how the story is written. It felt like I was reading a summary of actions rather than a story most of the time and the dialogue is sometimes confusing with who is actually speaking, because the either the author or the translators aren't specifying.

If you really have zero standards for literary quality and are just absolutely starved to read about cute elf s*ave girls you might enjoy it, for everyone else, there's enough content from other novels that can do a lot better than this. I feel like I've scraped the bottom off of the barrel reading this. Wordpad has higher standards. <<less

Firstly Thank you TL team for translating this wonderful novel, so wonderful that I almost can't understand the translation.

Lastly The author is really really smart to the point of being a once in a hundred year genius. Would you believe it that he make a horrible novel, so horrible that most people feel dissatisfied, disappointed, shocked, and abhor this novel highly. The plot is okay as far as the normal novel have but the author leaves plot holes after plot holes. Not just ordinary plot holes but a BIG MAJOR PLOT HOLES and MANY at that. Okay that's all thank you for your time reading my review and I hope I helped you in not reading this novel. Peace.

It's just boring.

... To be more specific, it lacks the descriptions that would make the events and characters interesting. Most of the effort is put into the s*aves and the magic (crafting) system, but the system is really simple. You might like it if you're one of those pe*verts who likes patting cute elf girl s*aves, though.

Pretty cheesy with the morals. You can probably tell with a title like "Charging magic with a smile", MC gets magic by stomping "evil" and making everyone in his kingdom smile in a feel good happy rainbow atmosphere.

That being said, the s*aves' reactions are pretty nice to read if you are into that sort of thing. And the world is pretty interesting. MC is OP, and not afraid to kill. So there's that.

Let me tell you a short story, a story which very much needed to be the tagline to start this review with. I shall tell you the story in spoilers, just in case there are those who may complain about it, after reading such a marvellous tale.

Spoiler

One day, there was a man and a woman. That said man and woman decided to one day make love to one another. The next day after the said pair did such act, the woman announces to the man that she has been made pregnant. The man and woman celebrate, afterwards the man decides on his next steps in life, now that he knows that he will soon be a father and the woman a mother. However, the very next day (yes, indeed the very next day), the man is notified by his friends, to his surprise, that the woman...

... has already given birth and holds a relatively healthy looking baby in her arms. As if to prove this wonderful news, the woman has came with the man's friends from behind them, and looks straight into the man's.... well I don't know, loving (?) eyes. The man was initially very shocked, but has soon later come to the terms, that, contrary to the common sense and previous knowledge he had thought that he knew... that he now strongly believed in his heart, that all of his future children would now be instantly born within a mere 2 days!

[collapse]

As we can see from this wonderful tale, we have this novel where the author has such wonderful storytelling skills. Where in this novel, it tells the story and adventures of a young God, as he is tasked by his superior God to restore a war and chaos-driven land to its former glory! So do not believe what the synopsis of this site tells you folks, this novel is not the story of your typical everyday-isekai-protagonist-who-gradually-becomes-more-and-more-overpowered, we have a story of a young protagonist who is forced to live and work in a such a wonderful world, with given powers which were not overpowered, none whatsoever!

So all in all, don't worry folks, the story of this novel is definitely a lot better than the story given out by "World Reformation Activities of the Dark God". While it unfortunately does has crappier translations than "Kumo desu ga, nani ga?", this novel has such an amazing story, where I simply felt like this didn't even need a rating at all! I just felt... that it was too much of an insult to give a rating to this absolutely perfect of a novel! *sobs* (Ignore the rating that I made above, couldn't update it properly).

On an end note, I would totally not recommend the novel "Haken no Kouki Altina". That novel is just waaaay~ to unrealistic and has such a predictable and boring plot and discardable character cast.

...

...

If you couldn't tell at this point, I was being sarcastic. Anime does have it's moments where creators like to gloss over ridiculous story moments, but it was just certain moments of the story where it grew highly unrealistic to the point I just couldn't take it anymore. If you want my real review, is that read until the point where the protagonist has just been ordained as a king. Nothing else is remotely interesting further than that. While the protagonist may have started out with little to no magic, it still remains the fact that he has been given broken powers in the first place, not overpowered ones. <<less

The author is clearly uneducated since the plot is so basic, the villages (any settlement less than 1000 is a village) have so few problems, and lacks research to deepen the plot.

But what irritates me is that the author lacks commom sense of how currency works and developed. A simple google search could settle that, but no, the s*upid author didn't even bothered.

I have never written a review before but reading this novel I thought that I should. The idea and theme of this novel is really good and makes me want to read it. But apart from all that the genre of this novel should be "slice of life"! Because all it does is describe the life of our MC and s*ave and their daily grinding of materials (which is a lot like Minecraft - that's the part I hate about this novel the most).

The story and plot are not driven... more>> forward at all and seem to be too bland and boring. There is nothing interesting in this novel except the fluffiness. So 2 stars! One for the good theme and the other for the adorableness of the s*ave.

P.s. Written at chapter 8 and planning to drop maybe. <<less

I didn't think much of it at the start, but it's getting strangely interesting.

There is an existence known as "Eternal s*aves" that become your s*ave forever. By making his s*ave happy, the MC gains a certain charge of magical power which he can use to build anything. From medicine to buildings to weapons etc...

I find it interesting because in the beginning, he makes her happy just because of his personality. Yet in chapter 2 and 3, it seems as if he's doing those good things in order to gain charge.... more>> It's like his mind is changing.

I'll update later on, but I'm gonna give it a 4 for now. The chapters are of a decent size, the writing is nice. Translations are prompt as well which is a plus. <<less

i really like the children they throw into it, it gave me good feelings cause like NO male MC anywhere spends time with there kids they all just mysteriously disappear or don't know about them or just don't have them for some reason, like the closest relationship between a male MC and his kids I have ever seen is in Oukoku e Tsuzuku Michi where the MC basically makes an army of the little buggers and occasionally plays with them and later in the story might train them

If you can accept the logic that dog like to be pet = eternal s*ave like to be s*aved. Then The logic in this novel is acceptable. The story of kingdom building is great, but the logic of how the goddess gives important mission to restore the world without much care is the problem. This is why most reader cant accept this and vote it underrated.

The goddes mistakes:

1. Summon a hero that end the war with demon lord, but end up destroy the world.

2. Summon 2 hero randomly to restore... more>> the world, given the power, s*ave, and tell them to be king without knowing that the world might end up worse if not for the MC being a man of charity.

3. The goddess make the s*aves treatment as charging magic system. This system make the once bad hero has no way to redeem himself to be a rightful king. I mean how come he can make the s*ave happy if he has to beat her up everytime to charge magic. This system also make the MC become harem building, as he need more s*ave to charge magic. No matter what king they be, they have the same title: s*ave king.

the reason I can still read this is because I like kingdom building, and second there is still no s*x scene. I believe the story will get out of hand when the MC has his first interc**rse. Because he has more than 100 girls waiting to be pregnanted. <<less

This novel is quite good, the MC dies and ends up been transferred to a dying world overrun by monsters by a goddess along with another guy and she ask them to restore the world and make it beautiful again, the goddess then present them with a card that lets you use magic to create basically anything and she also gives them an "eternal s*ave" which is basically an immortal elf girl to each person and then ask them to make the s*ave do something as a trigger to recover... more>> MP, the other dude makes his elf lick his shoes and he gets 10 MP, while the MC makes his elf smile and that neats him 1000 MP.

This is the tale of the MC which by making happy the girls in his company gets MP freely... no need to ask what happens to the other dude right?... <<less
